It sounds like there could be a problem with your SDK installation. I don't use a VM myself (and besides my SDK is almost certainly much older than yours), so unfortunately I'm unable to figure out...

No, I checked out, then I believe I ran the autogen.sh script, after that I did the 'fakeroot debian/rules binary' routine (there are other methods but this is the one I use on debian systems, so...
