In regards to the "clicking" of the screen near the edges/border: it could indeed be that the top layer gets stuck to the metal frame of some sort.
I took a fine sheet of paper, cleaned the gap...

I think that the guy might want to consider that the N900 has 800x480 screen which - compared to iPhone's 320x480 - is TWO AND A HALF TIMES MORE pixels to process at ANY time. The same hardware...
