Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)
Randomly thinking about it more from the MeeGo side, perhaps we shouldn't count on a high degree of integration.
MeeGo is going to support multiple x86 and ARM based devices from a wide range of...

Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)
I'd like to keep this format for this Forum, but start from scratch and use single sign on for all parts of site. I feel really bad for the older devices though that have nothing to do with meego,...

Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)
Single sign on for meego.com is essential Don't let's go down the road of multiple log-ins again. Please.
I wouldn't attempt to suck all the people (let alone all the posts!) from here...

Re: N900 - Yes, it sucks.
I'd eat you alive in any debate back in High School. Your foundation is always weak.
I feel the exact opposite. Nokia took a step back in hardware. This is typical of N90, 2006 workmanship,...

Re: N900 - Yes, it sucks.
You are making some really ridiculous assumptions there sport.
1. who says all the bugs were missed? see #2
2. yes bugs have been reported and are being worked on
I guess you missed the news...

Re: So what did you expect?
Same here.
But, perhaps unusually, that's why I need an open phone.
I don't expect any existing productivity apps to fit my way of working. (Haven't found any yet.) Sure, there are handy...

Sorry
As someone who in much have lost the 'faith' in that the maemo platform will ever grow and mature into a professional, viable alternative - and adequately supported by Nokia - I guess I'd be the last...

Re: N900 - Yes, it sucks.
No it is not.
Comparing a computer running many things to a computer optimised to do one thing at a time is silly. Im not sure what the jerky scrolling is caused-by, but remember that the screen...

Re: N900 - Yes, it sucks.
What definition of smartphone is everyone using to make these claims? Some say it isn't because it doesn't support autorotation, but neither did the N73 or 6600. They say because it doesn't have call...

Re: N900 - Yes, it sucks.
Even if the iPhone 3GS can smoother scroll the page i don't get your point. A bunch of guys explained:
1) It's only the first version of firmware (i'm talking about the official ones) - so it will...

bla bla bla ... and the amazing iphone can't multitask, can't play divx videos, can't play ogg files, doesn't support flash, can't send files via bluetooth, can't transfer videos/music without using...

Re: N900 - Yes, it sucks.
Really. I've never met a device I didn't want to have improved. The N900 has strong points but it has weak points too. Let's not be so insecure that we can't admit the weak points exist.

There are a number of threads appearing now from people who appear profoundly disappointed with a device they either have received or have tried out, (See 'Yes it sucks' and 'Reality Check') which...

That means, that unlike the N900, the N9x0's target group won't be linux geeks and tech lovers, but rather the current iphone target group (using capacitive screen & everywhere portrait mode).

Re: N900 Owners Thread (First impressions, ...)
Got my phone today.
Two parts of first-day impressions:
First some physical impressions. Lately I'm coming from N97 and E90 prior to that, so I'm used to sizeable phones.
* Thickness-wise it...

I don't know... these days, when I read about "smartphones", I have the same feeling I have when reading the term "web 2.0": I don't think the term describes anything that actually exists.
While...

Dumbing Down Smartphones
I read this article (http://www.reuters.com/article/ousivMolt/idUSTRE5AM28720091123) and it talked about nokia bringing smartphones to the mass market.
So what does this mean? I think we can...
