If you kill/stop the mce process more than (rough estimate) 4 times in approx 2 minutes the service doesn't restart.
You're best off using something like
initctl stop mce; sleep 2; initctl start...

To do this you need some stuff that needs disclaimers and warnings all over the place, as stated before, it's should be very easy to brick your device using and changing any of these...
