Not sure if you know where they go?... So they go in

usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/hildon and then 18,24,48..:D

As long as they are roughly the same proportions they should still display ok - the only downside is that it will take up more space than they need to. So, download and then open up in your image...

Flash it as described in the wiki (https://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware), user settings etc require flashing the eMMC card as well (see that page). Flashing this and the regular firmware will...
