azzurro, just open the Camera application, start recording video, and use these buttons:

Q and W to toggle Flash LEDs on and off,
E and R to toggle the red recording LED,
A and S to adjust...

Enable the Extras-Testing repository; it's in there.

Afaik, there's a function in the LED Patterns applet that allows you to revert to the original...

There's a status menu applet called Live Focus that does this. It's in Extras-Testing.

Try searching: It's the second result if you search "How to turn off red LED."

There is a program called "LIVE FOCUS." You get the option to disable red light.
