You need to convert them to .po with msgunfmt, and then reconvert after editing with msgft. Those programs are part of gnu gettext package.

Question Editing the language files in /usr/share/locale

Hi all...

I'm trying to edit a language file located in /usr/share/locale, but using just plain notepad doesn't seem to be the way to go.

Can anyone tell me the best way to edit the .mo files...
