Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

I already wrote this:
Nokia probably will gain some customers in USA
but it will loose many in the rest of the world.
Rising markets like China are looking for Linux
( e.g....

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Why would you bother with that right now? To most of end user probably for no reason right now. Devels and HW manufacturers should embrace it. Most users would not even dream about system where you...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

"We are concentrating on Meego" == :D
"We are concentrating on Android" == :)
"We are concentrating on WP7" ==

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Some interesting stats so much for a "burning platform" and having to find a new ecosystem it seems symbain/ovi wasn't doing to bad in the Apps market.

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

So far, nothing said on this board indicates any sanity in the MS-Nokia deal for end-users or Nokia employees. The only benefits seen are for a select few at the top of Nokia (and Microsoft).
And...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Maemo.org or the freshmeat that now inhabits it? I don't think it's an "anti-linux" or "anti-open source" attitude so much as one of indifference from a demographic of users who don't give a rat's...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Chances are MeeGo will be done by April. Whether or not Nokia could have delivered anything is something else entirely. I love how people remain totally ignorant of how MeeGo works yet talk like they...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Oops... I linked to rooted. Digging through the Twitter logs to just find this: bootloader is encrypted, Motorola are liars (http://twitter.com/#!/DesignGears/status/39089807808274433) because...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Well ... there were a number of Maemo devices (N770 ... N900) sold by Nokia - over the years, but without love and without being comitted to that OS.

And I remember, Nokia will deliver a Meego...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Given that half of the drivel are categorically either baseless claims, continued MS (aptly labeled M$) nerd drama or a dislike of Ballmer (he does come off as trustworthy as an used car salesman),...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Right, some people here are open SW enthusiasts, and also not friends of Microsoft. But I don't believe this hits the point. I also own a Window Mobile device that I also like. The MS deal itself, as...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

I don't think "open SW or not" has anything to do with the problems at Nokia. Nokia in the end sells phones. And missed the train called smartphone - even now there is no real smartphone that is...

Re: Nokia - Microsoft partnership (merged threads)

Apple? Nokia joked about Apple iPhone a few years ago!
HTC? Samsung? LG? All of them were small in mobiles a few years ago. It's not only innovation, but you must -in particular in consumer...

Re: Nokia sends E7 and WP7 handsets to developers

Get this straight E7 is s^3 and using Qt and QT IS NOT DEAD!

but if you and others continue say soo you let Ballmer team win the competiotion and maybe you will prefer WP7?

Qt Engineers will...

Re: Interview w/ Elop

Thats hilarious interview.. really.

Does Stephen Flop not understand that by publicly denouncing Symbian will mean that no one will want to write any further applications for it - hence ZERO...
