yep, i think is worst charge over 25-30 than remove before 100% but you have to consider that N9 battery level decrease faster when under 40-50% (it's a bug) so it's better leave it charging till full

Yes it does. The easiest way to spot this is to check charging current at 50% charge and at 90%. Current gets lower and lower to make battery last longer.

i have a N900 (4 years) and a N9 (2 years) both always charged to full and waited less than 10-15% to put on charge, both batteries are almost new (N900 lost 3-4% of total capacity and N9 1%)

E-mail is working OK. You can try(as a root):rm -rf /home/user/.qmf
if nothing else helps. There are threads here on TMO you can read as well.

I had similar issues few weeks back. For me, the phone asked my account passwords and would not accept them. Just simple reboot fixed it for me, but I am assuming you have done that already.

For my N9 it doesn't seem to matter if I use skype or some other IM account, any (permanent) 3G-connection drains the battery pretty fast.

As for being offline compared to disabling the skype...

Well, as they say, it is different under the hood and that's the only thing I care about.

I know how it behaves on Android and Gmail, so I don't understand where the need of abandoning XMPP comes...

N9 battery life is about a zillion times better than the n900 was and is just as good as some Lumias on most days it would last me but I admit it may need a top up after some heavy use

Be careful with terminology, folks.

o RAM: RAM is always physical RAM. In the N900 there's 256MB of it.
o There's no such thing as 'virtual RAM'.
o Swap space: Resides in the built-in flash...

A personal comment not tied to the N900 only but to all this category of devices that are closer to "little computers that make phone calls" rather than "mobile phones that can also do other things"....
