Allright, then it looks like there is some problem indeed launching backupmenu from a session running after ubiboot.
I'll have to investigate this sometime when I have spare time.

Pretty strange, as at least looking at your configuration it should work correctly;
Your ubiboot.conf has G_OS2_INITSCRIPT="\/sbin\/preinit" which means that it will use /sbin/preinit as the next...

Do you have the backupmenu files correctly installed in "/opt/multiboot/"?
If you have some problem there then the startup script defaults to booting to Harmattan instead of backupmenu.

OK, so exactly how does your device behave?

From the ubiboot log I can see that you got correctly into the ubiboot menu, and selected the kernel zImage_2.6.32.61-plus_20131128 from the Harmattan...

Marble would have to implement the resource policy stuff properly. I am not sure which forced profile in xpolicy.conf would work. Nokia Drive works with QuasarMX, so it is possible. Perhaps check...

I guess your only problem is that probably the ssh upstart script is broken so that init/upstart actually "forgets" it has started sshd. Can you post the init script?

Does Jolla use upstart at all?

Yes, 'killall sshd' will stop the currently running instance.
But it will be respawned thrice aitomatically:


So something else wrong on your device.
Please check
/sbin/initctl status ssh...

And do not try to call that command twice in a row.

As it will produce these messages:

~ # /sbin/initctl stop ssh
ssh stop/waiting
~ # /sbin/initctl stop ssh
initctl: Job has no running...
