Re: N900 Alternatives?
Any opinions on the Sony Ericsson Xperia pro. It has a qwerty keyboard and runs Android but haven't heard many opinions about it.

Re: Steve Job s resigns as Apple CEO..
You don't need a salary when you have other income to compensate. It's a technicality. He was not working for free.
From Forbes 400, February:
#136 Steve Jobs, Apple founder/CEO, worth $5.5...

Re: Steve Job s resigns as Apple CEO..
Honestly, fanboyism on the side... I think Apple and the world has just lost one of the greatest salesmen alive. I would love to learn a thing or two from him...

Re: HP says bye bye to WEebOS hardware
Now that would resolve Nokia's problems in a minute. Nokia back in business and RIM dead immediately.
Who chimes in to buy a one way ticket for Elop from Finland to Canada? I'm in for $100!

Re: HP says bye bye to WEebOS hardware
HP is also planning to spin-off PC hardware unit. Seems like they want to do just SW and services. Have wanted to buy WebOS device for a long time. Palm/HP never made any availeable. :(
EDIT: Kind...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
I have to disagree with everyone who is prematurely burying their n900. Yes, it's a chunky piece and it doesn't have enough ram.
I knew that when I bought it over a year ago.
Just because the...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
If I win a 10 billion dollar lotto next week, I'll make a brand called Mokia and make a phone called M900 with following:
- 4.5" HD AMOLED Capacitive (people will argue on this)
- Full mappable...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
This time I have to disagree with qole in almost full line.
First of all, I think Maemo Community doesn't have *real* bonds with Nokia for quite long time. Don't fool ourselves, in other places...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
The simple problem is that there have never been any devices quite like the ones Nokia created running Maemo. Nothing in the mobile space has ever hit that sweet spot that the Maemo devices have...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
I appreciate the responses but I am sad to see this thread. Not because it argues to wind down maemo.org. But because of what it doesn't say and because it seems aimed to head off a community vote...

Re: Motorola Xoom
Netbook > Tablet?
Agree. Unfortunately we are moving away from quality use of technology to glamourising gadgets and making them fashion accessories. Each time I see a commuter on the train/bus...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
Great post. Honest and sobersome. After weeks (months?) of speculative threads around Meego/N9-N950 I came to realise that the N900 had already passed its expiration date. The broken USB thread came...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
the Nokia N900 introduced me to the LINUX world. If it wasn't for the n900, I don't have a mobile device that runs on 600mhz-1000mhz, knowledge that you can have more than one OS in one device,...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?
N900's main feature to me is that it's like a little linux computer in my pocket. I quit using my laptop entirely after I bought the N900.
Android/Symbian/WinPhone/iPhone/etc are all too...

The End is Coming: What do we do next?
Here's my opinion about the future of Maemo and maemo.org. I am currently an (un-elected, volunteer) maemo community council member, and an avid member of this community for about 4 years.
