I would suppose the only moment getbootstate is relevant for NITDroid is the part right before NITDroid is actually loaded (i.e. the part where you boot into multiboot/bootmenu and switch OSs)....

Just FYI, N900's internal battery that preserves time settings gets weaker as time goes on. So while it SHOULD hold enough charge to be certain of correct date, it starts prompting you for date/time...

I don't think watchdogs have a way to cleanly unmount. Actually they usually trigger a rather hard shutdown.

I've modified Pali's Open Source version of getbootstate, to ignore values resulting in "unknown battery" and proceeding like with "normal" - see attachment. You need to compile it...
