IIRC Noikia conducted some internal research...
And came to the conclusion that Symbian was ultimately deprecated, & that a sucessor would be needed LT.
Hence the birth of the Maemo project.... ...

@jalyst: I just could not help laughing when I read that headline. Skype integration? Reeeeeally now? Frankly, I don't like a "smart" OS when its users have to cheer about skype and external storage...

Oh I agree, the common misconception that Alien Dalvik is coming, isn't healthy.
I've constantly pointed out that it's far from certain, & if anything it's not coming.

If people want Android games/Apps then they should switch to Android. This Myriad business is confusing because people who don't follow TMO as closely as some here, will buy into a device with wool...
