Ok, here's a quick fix:

SDK doesn't let me build deb file, but you can replace binary file (it's in /opt/maemo/usr/bin folder) if you don't want to wait for ceene's official release.

Don't use Google then! :) Duckduckgo (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=panorama_2.0.5_armel.deb) gave me exactly ONE result and it was the useful one.

Just FYI, I've tried to download the deb from the OVI site for offline installation later but it refused to do that for me and insisted on installing it either directly (when attempted from the N900)...

My understanding is that openrepos is for Harmattan(Meego) and SailfishOS, but not for the N900.

I GOT IT!

I have Hermes connecting and working again with facebook!

it was just a matter of oauth url.

for a quick fix you can login to facebook trough your PC, delete hermes in your apps...

just had to reread your second problem modest plugin that's a seperate problem to batterypatch, never had that problem just a quick googlin brought up this though...
