IMO installing Nitdroid on the emmc is risky especially for a newbie ;)

Hi,
it is slow due to CPU and not the space ! you should install setcpu on nitdroid and overclock :) and remove the widgets from the desktop to gain more speed

no no. You have to copy this file on your device (the N900 folder i.e. MyDocs), then open xterm and write

sudo gainroot
cp MyDocs/hildon-control-panel.desktop.txt...

Before trying to repair anything please post the result of the terminal command

/usr/bin/controlpanel

here. (Assuming that is the name of the binary)

Is it possible that Norton Antivirus deleted a file from /usr/? I suspect that there is something going with a dotfolder in MyDocs and not anything on the rootfs. After all windows do not have access...

Install from application manager "sudser" and then try again without sudo gainroot just type:
cd /usr/share/applications/hildon
sudo rm faircrack.desktop
cd /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon...

when you installed you added files right ? remove the same files :)
