Yeah you will see the thumbnail in the conversation window and (so far) it will open the browser with the picture when you click it.

The only difference (so far) is that Yappari won't download it...

Change the pattern in /etc/hildon-desktop/notifications-groups.conf and reboot your phone after that. It's been said before in the thread use the search function.

Maybe you don't understand how WhatsApp works...

The double green check will appear when your friends read the messages. It could be days if they don't read them... I'm not sure how Whatsapp in...
