Wrong, extras repo is perfectly fine for the last 2-3 months.

1.8.0 is in testing for 2 weeks, it is a shame noone bothered to test and vote :(

you have to have extras-devel enabled on n900 these days...that has become the only relevant repo for n900 unfortunately

you can download all missing packages there, just use search on this site and write correct name of deb file
