n900 3g dual sim adapter

Hy
I just found the 26th 3G magic Dual SIm Adaptor. (http://magicsim.com/en/dual_sim_show...G%20dual%20sim or http://magicsim.com/en/dual_sim_show...G%20dual%20sim)
This adapter should work with the n900, because it also uses the 007 shortcut menu, but you I think you will need another phone to activate this mode because there is no STK menu in the n900.
Anyone knows a place to get this adapter? I only woud like to buy 1 not 100 :D.
If anyone has any experiece with this adapter please tell.

P.s. I know there is another Thread about Dual Sim adapters, I just thought that a new thread for 3g dual sim adapters would be a good idea, if not just merge it :P

they got like another adapter on the ph
they seem to mis that part out???????

the question is how going to fit in the ph not to mention how it will hold it???
just had a look on the n900 going to be a tight fit
the battery wont sit in right after either ???
be good if the hardware fits ?

These adapters requires you to cut of all dead space, meaning you will only have that little golden chip left to insert into the adapter.

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

No
this one is not working with 3g. It is the old 23th 3G magic Dual SIm Adaptor.
I'm looking for a place to buy the 26th 3G magic Dual SIm Adaptor.

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

So I found a shop for the 26th magic sim :D
http://www.dual-sim.eu/magicsim-26th-p-160.html

But it is quite expensive :-/ Someone here who is brave enough to test this adapter with the n900? ;)
btw I never have heard anything about this shop...
But this could give you the change to get a 3g dual sim adaptor :P

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

I dont think that can be use in n900, the STK(sim tool kit) menu is not avaiable yet in n900.

but if the switch can be access via dialpad *# it should work on n900 pr1.2

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

@akbardotinfo
have you read the description?

* Switch by using the special Magic-Sim menudual sim
* OR switch by calling "001" or "002".

To get this 007 switching mode you'll need another phone with stk menu.

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

I just bought this magicsim 26th dual sim. It is amazing, I have tried other cards and this is the first one that really works with 3G in my Samsung Omnia.

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

i ve got the magicsim 23th and 26th...

- i followed the instructions
- i lend a ngage to switch from stk mode to 007 mode it works with both adapters
- i've got an old gsm card and a new 3g card
- i put the adapter in my n900

status:

23th
- the 23th workes fine, but the 23th only supports 2 and 2.5 g...
- u can switch the simcards typing 001 call (for sim1) or 002 call (for sim2). after a few seconds, the new connection with the other sim-card is working.

26th with the same sim cards :

- it works in 3g mode (speed tested)
- i can switch from my gsm card to the 3g card.
- but i can't switch from 3g card to gsm.
- after a few trys the gsm card will be no more detected (put sim-card in failure). if i use the 3g card in the same slot, it works, but i can't switch.
- same situation in both phones!

maybe the adapter is broken, maybe my gsm-simcard is to old.

does anyone else use the magicsim 26th card adapter?

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

looks like 2 micro sims inserted on a standard sim adapter,

then you'll need this.

users may want to use 2 plans, 1 cheap voice only plan and 1 purely for mobile internet sim that may have no voice capability like a plan that runs for laptop modems. A user can stay on voice until they want to use the net then they can swap and then back again after they looked up whatever they need to on the net. Of course you can swap the sims by hand but do you want to do this everytime you swap plans ?

the only thing thats epically failed is between your keyboard and your chair

having a dual sim adapter is the alternative of taking out a tmo sim and putting in a att sim.. (10.00 family plan phone line for att)... 39.99 (tmo gives me 3g on my n900)

exactly... tmo 3g freq vs 2.5g att.. i have two sims unfortunately n900 doesnt work on att 3g freq... this is the current alternative till my god forsaken contract ends (not any time soon my wife just upgraded to a iphone 3gs BAH)

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

This kind of adapter are usually a great battery hog, sometimes are laggy... I prefer carrying a 20€ phone and my n900 at the same time than using a 20€ dual sim card

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

it would make sense if you could use them at the same time so i could use my german one and my polish one.that would be great.

@frapacinno:stop *****in i havent attack you so **** yourself

Re: n900 3g dual sim adapter

We can't connect to two operators or even a single operator with dual sims active(registered) simultaneously. You would need two radios for that. N900 has only 1. But switchable dual sim is useful since some operators have great mobile broadband packages which only have data service. With such a device we could get the benefit of this service without having to reboot the phone everytime.

Sorry for reviving, but maybe someone is interested:
Made a package for automated switching of SIMs, please see here.
If not, just let it die again...
