Is this a good extended battery?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The price isn't bad and it twice the capacity. Plus it's the same size of the regular battery. I wasn't to hot on those bulky azz mugen batteries but they sure as hell worked like a charm.

This battery has already been discussed. I ordered one, but it hasn't come yet. Omens are not so good. Personally, I would try something I haven't considered for years -- buying a real Nokia one, just for yucks.

Well the scud battery is by far the best until i test the battery in question, i don't think i has 2250mAh unless is has newer battery tech than is normally available

Re: Is this a good extended battery?

i dont even need to check the limk to tell you the answer is no, stay away from it. There are only 3 batteries worth buying. Original nokia battery, SCUD battery or japod battery. Just go to the thread in drfrosts signature and read the first post.

He is our resident battery EXPERT. Listen to everyhing he says.

I wouldn't say EXPERT, more mildly ADVANCED :D

I'm getting pretty good results with the expensive non-giant Mugen ones. I have two Japod ones and I'm not using them.

Sorry, this is OT, but I decided long ago that an expert isn't necessarily someone who knows the right answer. An expert is someone who is obsessed with finding the right answer. By that standard, I think you qualify.

Ouch well mine just arrived today i will try and check out the battery threads.

Re: Is this a good extended battery?

Yeah, dr_frost_dk delivers a meaningful service of a kind that makes tmo worthwhile. Buying a non-nokia battery would be a lottery without the thread. The "320mAh" specimen is a hoot in point...

I know there is a thanks button, but sometimes one simply must write it out.

Re: Is this a good extended battery?

it's nice to see my "work" appreciated, i wish i was better at coding to help in that sense, only thing i have been doing in that area is custom bightness, i would really like to be able to port games, i have a S**T load of games i want ported, i have been fiddling with Colonizition and X-COM through dosbox, but it is impossible to get good results with dosbox unless you have QUAD core 3.5GHz+ CPU!!!!!

Re: Is this a good extended battery?

If you want a good, reliable extended battery, get one from Mugen Power.
I've been using it for half a year now, and very satisfied.

2400 mAh, very long standby and more than a full day of extensive use (many hours of continuous browsing, music, whatever). I've never had it go dead on me during the day yet.

It DOES make your phone quite bulky (thickness increase of around 50%), and it doesn't have a lens cover in the back - however the lens is very deeply recessed and I've yet to get a scratch of any kind on it. Just dust.

if you want a better and cheaper battery, get your soldering iron out and cutting tools, even the 'christgift' battery mod will be better than mugen XL battery

That may be, but personally I prefer not to bother. It is a tad expensive, but if you can afford it, why not?

These XL packs are sold for a reason - so that the end user doesn't have to do it all himself :)

a tad expensive!!!!! 100$ vs 30$ for Mugen cover + 2x scud battery's for a total of 3000+mAh or 25% more than the xl mugen

if i paid the same rate for my EV battery then it would be more expensive then gasoline with a high fuel consumption

I believe he meant the mugen was "a tad expensive".... but the expense saved him having "to do it all himself"... :)

Re: Is this a good extended battery?

At least one person has failed to make the bigger battery DIY-way destroying the battery, so it is not so easy for everyone. us$100 is not so much when you doesn't have to tress out being afraid of the fireball in the future, if you are not sure what you are doing.

I have made two of these batteries with two different methods. The first one really I couldn't recommend to average joe. The second easier hack is more doable for everyone, but still if one do not want to worry and has the money, go buy an original Mugen battery.

i'm using a japod after reading dr_frost_dk battery thread and as a replacement it's brilliant, it took a month to get to me but it was worth the wait. :)

Yes imma give about a week or so and go by the directions. It stays full then all of the sudden the batterty goes from full to empty. My official Nokia battery doesnt do that along wit sum other knock off battery that I have.
