1) the user is not clear how the new swipe-top-menu work in sf3.0, so afaik he is asking for a patch to keep sf2.0 swipe-top-menu in sf3.0. i just helping, due no body did.

2) on this: yes. try the new face of the fastest/smartest fish in the world!.
i'm basically telling him to go to sailfish 3 without fear. in a pretty terminology.
are you clear now @peterleinchen? :D

So, what you are saying is, every change is good, is it?

You're obviously just trying to poke some discussional fun here, but let me just translate from a non-native speaker (well, I am, as well): Nope, he does not. It's more of a "I think this change is pretty good. You might be able to appreciate it if you tried it for a while."
It may be phrased misleadingly, I really agree, but reacting this way is just as bad a style, if not worse, IMHO.

That's not how I read carlosgonz's post. It sounded like, "embrace the brave new world of SFOS 3, whatever it brings". But I could be wrong.

To be honest, I am sitting on the fence (for the non-native speakers, it means, "I am undecided which side to take"). I did not like the change from a single swipe down in home screen to turn off the display to swipe down and tap, but I got used to it. I do not like this change either but I am already getting used to it too.

@pichlo: there is a patch for a single swipe down to turn off the display: Restore swipe to lock; or Topmenu control (web-catalog in patchmanager)

@carlosconz: I installed 3.0 on my Jolla1 and could not find an option to disable the swipe-from-top in middle area to top-menu.

Agreed, I am using Topmenu control and it works nicely.
There is no option to disable or swap the two gestures.

Ahh, I just only now noticed that this has been fixed in 3.0.0.8 which I updated to yesterday.
Now the icon spacings are nice and clean! :)

If I understood the release log for 3.0 correctly, a swipe from the top in the middle-area opens the top-menu. a top swipe at the edge (left or right) closes the app. I would like to close an open app with a swipe from the top middle-area. Is the possible?

I kind-of like the new design that brings up the menu on middle pull and closes the open application on corner pull.
That eases my life as it saves me a 2-gesture chain; I used to first do a side-swipe to get from an application to the main menu and then top-swipe to lock the device.

Now if it only would minimize the foreground app at the same time when it locks the device, so that the next time I unlock it I'd get directly to the main screen!
This is so crucial to me I am even considering to patch it so :p
