I am _Extremely_ impressed and delighted with the improvements in OS2008 on my N800. I had given up on the N800 in favor of my my EEEPC because under OS2007, using Google Docs wasn't possible. OS2008 is really nice. So many cool improvements.

What is the process for going back to OS2007 I really want gnumeric on my N800 and ever since I figured out how to flash it to OS2008 I've been missing gnumeric.

And my N800 is the only card reader I have for my SDHC chips so I am missing the USB access too.

Uhhh, gnumeric is available for OS2008. I have it installed right now.

meh.

gnumeric for OS08 is crippled. You can not view multiple worksheets, and columns of formulas do not translate properly.

eg. =C$2-(D25+E25) produces an endless string of pound signs on one row and 0 on the next row. When I kick the chip out of the N800 and open the same file in excel (Macintosh) everything is in its proper order.

I was able to bring my excel spreadsheets into gnumeric under OS07 without any translation errors. This is not the case in OS08. I installed gnumeric immediately after flashing my N800 to OS08 and immediately found it to be much less functional than in OS07.

Under OS07 in the preferences you can tell gnumeric that you want to see the worksheet tabs. That feature doesn't exist in gnumeric in OS08.

Also USB function is broken in OS08. So I'm going back.

What exactly are you referring to here? I mount my SDHC cards over USB just fine with an N800/OS2008.

And in addition to flashing your N800 to OS2008 did you take additional steps to enable your pc to see your SDHC cards via USB connection ?

In any case after flashing to OS2008 neither my iMac (intel) or PowerBook G4 can see the SDHC cards in my N800.

epilog
The usb thing turnout to be a cable gone bad.
gnumeric is still a few weeks away from being a working program on OS2008.
I'm on OS07 and smiling.

I haven't, just a flash to OS2008 "official" for the n800. I've been using USB via XP and Vista though.

You need to take your sdhc cards and format them on a digital camera that takes sdhc cards. Mac, PC's and Nokia have not seen fit to recognize the need to install drives for sdhc card formatting. Camera makers have. I had same problem and I followed a friends advise and took them to BestBuy and within 30 seconds the camera reformatted them properly. It didn't cost me a penny. Hope this helps and pass on the info to others. lol, Dan
