Wasn't there a way in Maemo Mapper to set POIs, in the past? What I mean is to click on a point on the map and get a pop-up to set a POI and give it a label. Something like that. I'm certain I've done that in the past, because I have a number of POIs (entered by me) in my old maps already.

But I can't find a way to do it, not even with the 'help' function. I can only find options for importing, exporting and browsing POIs, and that's not what I want to do.

Click and hold, and from the context menu select Tap Point (not POI).

I click and hold, but there's no pop-up (context menu) at all. (2.6.2 on OS2007)

I've seen other people complain about that somewhere on iTT with the recent MM update. I don't know if it's related, but I'm using Diablo (and 2.6.2), not OS2007.

Thanks. I'll look around for any other problem reports. Seems I remembered correctly when I thought I could indeed just click and hold in the past.

Either way you are likely to get the same results using Googles repositories. Many report that they do not work anymore and return just blank pages. When I try one I get the same results.

I thought it was only Google Satellite.

Your best bet is to (...) down load just one zoom level at a time using the tablet.

Yes, I think this will be my next move.

Yup...I'm having the same problem on OS2006.

Having lots of problems with WinMapper(03.19.2008).

WinMapper doesn't work well yet. Gnuite made some modifications in maemo-mapper for the zoom levels and I didn't had time to update my code.

Both are working for me again so who knows?

I don't use G_ satellite anyway. VE Hybrid gives me what I need for a "live" view and it has labels.
G_ street map is the best though as far as color, labels, and line width IMHO.

I toggle between the two adding a traffic layer to G_street and using VE Hybrid below zoom 6...

Re: Maemo Mapper v2.6 - SQLite and APRS

I got g. satellite working again with the url that someone posted earlier (possibly in this thread but I didn't bookmark it). Me happy.

My only problem now is that bug which seems to be only in the os2006/2007 version: tap-and-hold doesn't work (for settting pois etc.)

It works for me.
It may be something particular to your set-up... a library pulled from the developers repo for another app perhaps?
