It seems as if you could easily shave off $300 or more from almost any device by simply not designing a cellular radio into it.

So yes.. it's inflated.

Actually, comparing the iPhone 8GB with the iPod Touch 8GB, it's currently 360 euros vs. 230 euros. That's a 130 euro markup for a much more capable device. I really don't think it's that bad.

Why do you need a window title? Look at Google Chrome... :D

What is the toggle switch?

And the side speakers work fine for me except in loud enviornments where you need to stick the speaker up to your ear to hear. Cant watch a video and have speaker at your ear ... not that you can do that with front spekers either.

Over all, I like it. But really it doesnt look like its all that different(software wise) from Diablo. Lots of UI changes, but the main stuff is the same. I guess we knew that already but I was hoping for some bling bling I guess.

I'll def buy the tablet version if/when it comes out.

Wish they would make a cheaper version with no keyboard.

toggle switch is the device lock slider.

This is my dream device, once I have this I won't upgrade for at least a year or two. Maemo, cellphone, hardware which can actually browse the web well, open source, 5mp camera, FM transmitter hardware keyboard and a smaller size to fit in my pocket. All of this was almost there with the N810 my favorite device of all time and now it is a few months away :D

Ah!! That makes since. Forgot about that one. I have problems with that thing on my n810 sometimes ..... This one looks a little more robust (GOD I hate that word!!).

"You need to make your process more .. robust!" Ah, thanks boss, very helpful.... Goes along with "It is what it is...". Really? No f'ing way?!! What a waste of breath that is. Falls under the category of "Statments that make me want to slap people".

No, seriously, side-speakers means less volume but more stereo separation (at least indoors, especially near furniture/walls) compared to face-speakers. Also, the top slide with the screen is thinner so you'd have weaker speakers there anyway even if you solved the layout problem.

PS. As for stylus - Eldar has a prototype from apparently months ago. For all we know, that thingy in the corner might be just a plastic placeholder and stylii will be there only for production devices.

You would give up louder, directed audio for softer separation? The N800's speakers aren't exactly deep 6x9's either.. but they're plenty loud. The stereo separation was pretty darn good, too. I was hoping for that to come back. You know.. keep what works well and improve, bring back what worked in the N800's--not bring back what a lot of people didn't like in the N810's.

Just curious, what kind of "bling bling" were you hoping for? Nice UI is where the "bling" usually is, but we've known for almost a year now that this baby's got a really big engine under the hood (Cortex A8) and a fantastic, open source OS (Debian-based Linux) under the UI.

That's all the "bling" I want. But I'm curious about what is missing for you?
