Personally I would just like to believe that the community has enough honest people who realizes that by saving the few dollars on a game you like you very effectively doom the platform from getting more professionally made games.

But there's still some threshold how easy piracy can be and having to write only three words to the terminal clearly exceeds it. That's why the package was removed.

I see your point, but you can't really blame the user for doing it, as they might not even know they were supposed to buy it. If an apt-cache search shows a package and it is installed with apt-get, the user wouldn't know that they had done anything wrong.

No wonder the Ovi store is still in beta :(

I suggest another solution: use the normal installation processes, but install the content in an encrypted way. On postinstall, run some decryption engine that verifies the purchase against the ovi store before unlocking the content. The browser could pass a Session/Purchase ID/MAC that is valid for a few minutes and the store could e.g. retain the IP of the buyer. Only if all data is valid when the unlock call comes shall the content be decrypted.

Easy and cheap to implement, a simple barrier. Not that secure, but needing some work to get hacked - but not economical anymore.

(One problem about the IMEI solution: SIMless devices :-)

your IMEI has nothing to do with your SIM, this is a hardware key embedded into you phone hardware, similar to a MAC key in every network device. so having no SIM card won't affect this.

Just a quick question. I purchased Level Pack 1, and I finished all 63 levels from Arena 1, 2 and 3. Does this include the level pack? Or is this part of the demo?

Arena 2 & 3 are from the level pack. The basic game just includes arena 1.

Any ideas when the level pack will be available to purchase? There's only so much time I can spend trying ot get 3 start on each level! lol! (got at least 2 on each level!)

It should be already available? I purchased it last night. But due to security issues on Tuesday i guess it might have gone down temporarily. Read earlier in this thread, there are plenty of links to the level pack

... which suggests that it was unknown to the publisher that "having to write only three words to the terminal" is enough to download the application. - If this is true, it sure is surprising.
