Just have a look at the overview of units at nokia.com, you will see that N900 is shown in landscape mode.

The unit is build for landscape opereation PERIOD. Even if I agree that portrait would be nice, I cannot blame any1 for the lack of it.
How am I supposed to type and answer messages with one hand operation on this unit without portrait mode and virtual portrait keyboard??

Eg. I cant answer an sms while driving a car with this unit (and do not tell me I should not type messages while driving, that is MY choice!).. There are MANY other situations as well..

Media Player !!
PDF!
Calculator!

etc. etc. etc ...

And just the possibility to hold and manage the phone without using both your hands!! For crying out loud we are living in 2010 now!!!



I regret big time for being so stupid believing what I read that Nokia/Maemo was going to implement the NO.1 wish for consumers for this unit; Full Portrait Mode !!

Also; where is support for MS Silverlight? (for web-tv), and Java to use Java applications like most other normal smartphone??? (except stupid iphone)

ICQ plugin (telepathy-haze) no longer works. Any ideas what is going on and how to fix it?

i exported them in a folder, and then select all and send via bluetooth, there's no option to export to a file...

If you cause an accident where only you are affected, then yes its your choice... otherwise...

Fair enough, I never noticed that behavior, it always showed my next 5 events in the correct order. Maybe I'm not busy enough to see the bug :-)

I'm assuming that a brainstorm is the appropriate place for a feature request?

Its still incredibly slow to bootup = ie unusable, as is the GPS poor = unusable. Why wont Nokia understand SPEED is king in a phone/mobile device. Finally a Nokia device with a decent CPU - slow apps like this shouldnt be released.

Not to mention that such behavior is illegal in some states and will get you pulled over and fined.

I'd think bugzilla would be better for this - I don't think there's any question on what the behaviour ought to be (brainstorm is for when there's several proposed solutions).

i dont think so. not in my world.
i have at least 3 things that i want to see implemented/improved/fixed (in random order)

1> voice dialing
2> imap-idle
3> voice navigation (not just that but a overal good maps application)

my AP authentication protocol:
WPA/WPA2-PSK

my n900 connection setting:
static ip
default transmission power 100mw
WPA2 only unchecked

maybe I need one more day to test if that was my illusion
