should i reinstall modified-hildon-desktop and do the steps that you have told me about previously
because i did them without installing modified-hildon-desktop and i still have the same issuse so please what should i do?

You need to install modified-hildon-desktop. This should install version 1.14, so you won't need any steps after this.

i am having a really big problem my case is like charbelrahme
i did try all of what u said but none worked for me
i uninstalled the old version of modified-hildon-desktop and installed the 1.14
it did not work wut happened is i uninstalled the 1.14 version it uninstalled the wget comnad from /bin/sh
now im not able to install it again and my CPU is still 100%
i did donwload the hildon home for your repository and updated it but also the same result so please if you can help me i would appreciate it thx in advance

Run in an xterm

sudo gainroot
apt-get install modified-hildon-desktop

And report exactly (use cut and paste) the results.

I installed this and had five screens then decided to uninstall. Reason being for some reason the background on the fifth screen could not be changed. Always used the background of my fourth screen. Got a bit confusing having the same picture on two backgrounds. But the thing that finally made me decide was one day I just got a black background for the fifth screen. No matter what I did I could not get rid of that plain black background. Was spoiling the look of the phone so just got rid of it.

Is there a fix for these two problems? I love the option to have more than four backgrounds.

but i cant copy the results cz im using the laptop to post not the N900 but it did install the wget and the modified hildon desktop but the CPU is still 100%
wut should my next step be
ps i ddnt reboot after this should I
