Re: Canonical announces Ubuntu for smartphones, we go hands-on
I've updated the article about Ubuntu Touch on Nexus 4, with June and July versions. See the portuguese-br version, or the english translation.
Some new features : - flipped images where Android is inside Ubuntu (LXC container), so there is no need of chroot to enter Ubuntu; - Ubuntu Touch 13.10; - screenshots available via 'adb shell /system/bin/screencap'; - 'File Manager', 'System Settings', Terminal, etc now preinstalled. Here some preinstalled softwares : http://www.robertocolistete.net/Ubun...buntuTouch.jpg The new 'System Settings' where only some features are functional : http://www.robertocolistete.net/Ubun...buntuTouch.jpg |

Looks very awesome!
Ubuntu looks more "complete" than sailfish, but sailfish is more "complete" than ubuntu. Strange world. |
Re: Canonical announces Ubuntu for smartphones, we go hands-on

Re: Canonical announces Ubuntu for smartphones, we go hands-on
AFAIK, no. It does need the Android drivers though, I think?

But many features of Ubuntu Touch needs to be improved until October 2013. In my opinion, Sailfish OS shown in videos is more polished and finished than Ubuntu Touch until now (July 2013). |
