I get the exact same error too. segmentation error!
This is not so cool, because every other Twitter-client on N900 is terrible...

Please help, would have been nice to get this app running!

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Well, I still haven't find the cause of this problem but I think that you guys that are having this problem can help me.

Run this command:

Code:

dpkg -l > MyDocs/list
and send me the file "list".

This list contains all the packages that you have installed in your device. I'll try to install the differences between your installed packages and mine and see if I get this error.

You can send it to this email.

edit: Please put "TweeGo Seg Fault" for the subject that will be easier for me to filter the emails :)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Why can't I install this? I'm on PR 1.3 and I can't install it because of this libqoauth. And when i try to install the libeqoauth 1.5, it gives off a message something like "package unsuitable for install"

Help!!!

Pressure 2010-12-05 07:55

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

If I can't install this, might as well stick with Khweeteur.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Help please! Here's the story: I tried installing directly through the APP Manager and it says that I lack a package "libqoauth". I can't install the file through xterm. It only says package not found. So I resort to another alternative, which is finding the libqoauth. And then when I try to install it, it says "incompatible installer". What am I supposed to do? I want to install this on top of Khweeteur :(

In order to install TweeGo and libqoauth you need to have extras-devel on your repository list, if you download TweeGo it should download and install libqoauth as well.

Try this command in the terminal and see if it works :

Code:

root
apt-get update
dpkg --configure -a

Do you have any tweet on your account? If you don't, try tweet something from the website and try login with TweeGo. If you do have tweets, please send me your packages list as I said from my previous post. It will help me find this nasty bug :)

Thanks alot, it works now after i tweet, i used a new account that has no tweet on it.
So apparently it crashes only if there's no tweet?
btw is there anyway to make this into some sort of widget notification? Y'know just like pushmail?

Hello guys!

Just released a new version with a smoother list on timeline screen :)

And thank you everyone who sent me their packages lists, I'm looking for that nasty bug already.

The date on the file is Nov 6 2010 and it says v4.0 is this the correct one ?

Any chance auto refresh is in this version ?

any chance when this is going to be released outside of devel. Want to give tweego a go without the risk of enabling devel!

New update just showed up in Appman right now, ill down load and report back any big differences

colm.smyth 2011-01-13 08:41

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Ok im in....no apparent differences, no auto refresh Mentions tab.

Where the 'Home' button is now, move it to the left and please create a @ and a DM button

For me i can live without the mentions and DM but i cant live without auto refresh

Can the current developer let us know what the change log is for this.

The version that installed for me is v0.4.3

Plese dont take my comments as negative, Tweego is the best looking twitter app on N900...we and I just want to see it fully working with as many features as possible

Thanks

Anyone else install, notice any changes ?

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Changes as described in repository:

0.4.3-1 * Removed mentions button.
0.4.3 * Fixed Crash when user has no tweets on its account.

I think though that it s an abandoned project. Neither one fine client for twitter on maemo. Tweego was promissing but..

colm.smyth 2011-01-13 09:39

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

ohh i know they took them...but really thats an important feature, it needs to be there.

As for abandoned, dont think so, the dev released a version update in December and I believe its still going.

Ive been using a mixe or hahlo.com or dabr.co.uk or Khweeteur but all have limitations, dabr.co.uk is the most feature rich including twitpic uploads but sadly no auto refresh.

Im using tweetgo.net because it's the only one useable out there. That' s a shame for maemo. Neither one full feature twitter client.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

yeah meant to mention that, its cool. but again no reply all feature and sadly the developer want nothing more to do with it

I wish that the oAuth bug was fixed for twitter in the contacts, wasn't that useful but had good points

It is a shame. TweeGo is probably the best looking and most native Maemo Twitter client. Very smooth scrolling (unlike Khweeteur) and intuitive UI. However the lack of feature implementation let it down badly.

I would like to see auto refresh, portrait mode, DMs, @mentions and picture uploads.

Is it open source? I seem to recall it being written in C. would be good if some Devs could contact the original coder and maybe collaborate on the project to get it finished.

Its a very highly polished program and would be a shame to let it fall by the wayside.

agree with everything you say..i think its open, i dont believe the original dev is the one doing it now..not sure though

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Hello everyone,

No, the project is not dead and yes, I am one of the two original developers. The main problem is that the real life has been a lot of time consuming lately, so I can only work on TweeGo on weekends :/

But don't worry, TweeGo will continue to receive updates! Next version I'll implement the mentions tab!

After this last update, it is now really easy to add new tabs and multiple timelines (like the mentions, DM received and sent, searchs, favorites etc), I'm just working on the animations between the timelines, the movement like the maemo main screen is not working that great as I couldn't auto center de timelines. I'll probably go for the easiest solution for now (click on the top buttons to center the timeline on the screen) and go back to the main screen like approach later.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

This is great news, glad to hear there is a large update due, would you have an estimation of when it will be released ?

Keep up the great work

C.

Pretty soon actually, I'm working on it right now!

The animations are already working, I just need to fix a bug about repeated tweets on timeline, and remove the more button when there is no new tweets/mentions.

0.5.0 has mentions support.

colm.smyth 2011-01-18 06:38

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

just got v0.5.0...great work, transitions are nice and smooth.

Basically all that is needed now, is the holy grail for me of auto refresh and then a DM tab up top.

After this you can take a holiday....just for a week mind :D...after than please add geo location again and twitpic support etc. (at least for viewing)

If you can get auto refresh in place i cant see any need to continue using Khweeteur for many people, its still good for what it does but everything in one timeline is not the way to go.

Cheers

Colm

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

So, finally we're reaching the features of the last year's version!

To the next update I'll work on the setting object, first thing will be the auto-update, but I want to put some extras like change avatar and stuff like description, screen name, etc (or not, people don't change those a lot). I was thinking on a two panel view for it, with your profile informations on the left and the settings on the right.

I believe it's best for the users to answer, what features do you want for the settings?

And about the DM tab, do you want to see the received and sent messages? If yes, in separate tabs (like Received DMs and Sent DMs) or only one (a DM tab, with two tabs inside)?

I would really go for the second option, maybe it's not the best as you would end up with tabs inside tabs but doing this I could add a nice "send DM tab", with a list of users to send like the one of accounts on the first screen and the text box next to it.

The easiest one to get working is the twitpic/tweetphot view support, as the code is 80% done from the last versions (just need some cleanup) but I want to improve how to open links first, sometimes that can be really annoying :\

Edit: Almost forgot, before doing any of this, I'll be changing how TweeGo downloads images, as for now it downloads the same picture more than once :/ I need to create a pictures cache to improve the network usage.

hawaii 2011-01-18 13:59

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I think a tab for Sent and a tab for Received DMs on the main UI would be acceptable.

Settings could have options for timed auto-refresh, notifications for mentions / @ replies (use IM LED/vibe pattern).

I agree that profile changing abilities might not be as important, as users don't do it that often, and it's not a real requirement in a mobile client.

Twitpic and plixi support would be great, but I hope it's not inline - maybe automatically loaded and cached upon recognition but only viewable after the specific tweet is selected.

Reply-to-all would also be a very nice addition.

ZogG 2011-01-18 14:27

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

i would ask the features even i know the first is not in prior =)
portrait mode
replied to -- in the tweet tab add the tweet that was replied to (even maybe whole conversation to able to load with butoon "shoew conversation")

i'll think of more =)

biatch0 2011-01-18 14:32

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

1) Conversation threads similar to how Seesmic Web displays them would be awesome -
http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/w...h0/seesmic.jpg

2) Reply-To-All

3) Threaded Reply (related to (1)) - Right now, Reply appears to be nothing more than including the @handle in the tweet without really "replying" and acts more like a mention which causes threads to break. A conversation going back and forth between 2 clients that support threads can be broken by a 3rd person jumping in on TweeGo ATM.

These are what I would consider important (not in order)... DM/Twitpic/etc. aren't incredibly important to me, sure they'd be nice, but if TweeGo didn't have DM/Twitpic I'd still use it!!! The 3 I mentioned are a different story however!!!

Keep up the good work!!! TweeGo looks to be THE Twitter client for N900 soon!!!

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Hi Mikhail,

Nice to see there are people working to improve twitter tools. Since there are very few of them and with very different (missing)functionalities.

Here my most wanted changes/options:

#1. Ability to change font and background color (light/dark, dark/light)
#2. Ability to zoom in/out the screen a bit or use bigger/bold fonts. Of-course keeping the text from the tweet in screen, amout of tweets per screen may decrease.
#3. Increase the size of the avatar. Avatars are crucial to recognize the sender of messages, having them so small they look too much to each-other.
#4. make a key combination to jump to the first and last message. p.e. ctrl+up to jump to the first tweet and ctrl+down to jump to the last one.
#5. Put more messages in buffer (current list). There are now 40 messages available by default and you need to hit the 'More Tweets' button to go back in time.
#6. Show a preview of the picture (if there is a foto in the message) on the opened window if you tap on message.

I really hope this options are possible to implement so we can enjoy the tool on a better way.
Best of luck and keep up the good work!

anapospastos 2011-01-18 18:41

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

It could be possible to add an "open" button next to every link? I cant open links with the first time, Im trying second and third time. I mentioned that again in the past and some users agreed. Also handling of errors would be nice, eg when there is no internet connection and I m trying to tweet something tweego keeps showing processing icon and the only solution is to exit.

"via TweeGo" or "via TweeGo for N900" would be better than TweeGo mobile

hawaii 2011-01-18 19:12

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

It seems the same big affecting TwimGo happens with TweeGo now...

1). Open TweeGo with an active data connection.
2). Change data connection service type. 2/3G<->WiFi.
3). Connection dialogbox will pop up and continue to do so, numerous times.

Anybody else notice this?

Ozdorp 2011-01-18 19:25

Re: [ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

*Changing screen name, avatar or description is done so few that it can be done on a computer =)
*About the DM Tab, i think both in the same tab is best. I dont think people DM that much either.
*Picture cache is a good idea!

I also got 2 bugs to report:

One you already mentioned yourself: The link clicking doesn't work that well.

The other one is that most symbols don't show up.
For example, if i tweet :
"Hello, I <3 Tweego"

It shows up in tweego like this:
"Hello, I"
(So everything after the heart is also gone)

Further i wanted to say you guys did a really nice job already, Tweego Rocks!
Keep up the good work!

Man, I have never saw this bug! I just tweet a message here and it look like the twitter api is thinking that what is between "<" and ">" is a HTML tag. I try to change them to &lt and &gt to see if it works.

Edit: it didn't work :\
