Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Fötus: there is no way to do something with "SGX Out of mem event". just disable gles ;-)
what's up with your memcards? according to log emu can't create it (you should create .pcsx/memcards folder and set right permissions\ownership to it) you can enable gles for GUI by editing file /home/user/.config/Team16/psx4m/[game name] pcsx-hwa=0 to pcsx-hwa=1 because it's very unstable i wouldn't unlock this option in GUI |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
bonapart why i cannot install the latest psx4m gui? it keep saying file corrupted....

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Fötus: savegames should work (memcard+savestates) in pcsx-rearmed (no matter about enabled or disabled -gles switch)
have just one idea: you use different startup directories for soft and gles gpu |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
The new rearmed version is amazing! Great speed up, more compatibility (now Tekken 3 works, slow but works), and video without glich (tested with Ridge Racer 4 and Dino Crysis). Good Job!
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
yep, awesome job, bonapart. You rock. Thanks dude. ;)
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
pcsx-r closes when i try to save state or load state theres nothing in xterm to report as a bug is this just me
gona try reinstalling on the plus side i find that the memory cards work with most games they didnt before yay ill add some compatabillty to the list thanks |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
for a reason dino crisis 1 gets stuck at the this game contains explicit violence but dino crisis 2 works fine, but in my games, the down arrow keeps being used as X even thought ive specifically changed the keyboard layout

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
m4r0v3r: send me content of /opt/psx4m/keys (it's plain text file)
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
thanks alot bonapart
awesome work now with new pcsx rearmed gran turismo and pepsi man works full speed without frame skipping and very very very smooth |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Ah ive fixed the key problem, turns out I had it down set as square as well.
Which BIOS is everyone using? Since i have quite a few. Am also trying to get Metal Gear Solid working, it only seems to work with Sound enabled, and a few other things. but its very laggy, crashes as soon as Snake finishes his first codec call, but VR missions work fine |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
how did you guys update manually ? cause as you know update is corrupted via app. manager

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I hope next update is for sound :P Its awesome to play gran turismo full speed, but without sound i get bored quickly =)
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
shnigi: i don't know anything about Notaz todo ;-) so i can only hope with you
or you use psx4m core for GT? just started to merge spu from pcsx-rearmed and gte from pcsx4all to psx4m ;-) (now psx4m-gles faster in some games like nfs3) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I usually refrain from asking questions on a public forum as most of the answers I look for can be found with a little bit of effort, but I can't for the life of me get PCSX - ReArmed and PSX4m-gles working correctly and find the answer to my question.
Audio/video output is fine and they both even manage to run my copy of Rollcage (which runs like crap on the original PS1 compared to the PC version) decently (without audio & @ 1150mhz), but neither of the two programs generate any sort of configuration file and render me unable to map any keys. Where are the keymaps stored of both programs? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
hmm save states are broken in current release? psx-rearmd just crashes in every game that I try to save or load :)
EDIT: It's sad when you can't relay on save states. Oh well... what about MCs? Bonapart do you think that newer releases could brake memory cards? Can we trust them? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
ffha: /opt/psx4m/keys
Magik: MCs ? works fine for me. Savestates is seems to be broked |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

My question is: Do you think that newer releases could broke them? I don't know if it's good to play some kind of RPG :D |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Magik: i think that each release use compatible MCs format (but savestates can be incompatible)

Do I have to install the GUI or something? I only have the '-gles and pcsx cores enabled. |

But you will probably have to do it manually. Quote:

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I've installed the GUI and used it to create a keymap.
Thank you, Fötus. Rollcage runs at full speed on ReArmed (1150MHz, no sound, frameskip 2), but the '-gles core crashes after a couple of seconds (maybe a mc-related glitch, as I'm able to enter the menu but can't get past it). Too bad, really, 'cause the '-gles core makes the game look great. I can't wait till you manage to merge '-gles and ReArmed, bp :) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

To start, just type for example: cd /opt/maemo/usr/games ./pcsx -gles -nosound -cdfile /home/user/MyDocs/.../game.bin |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
you can manually edit game config file (/home/user/.config/Team16/psx4m/[game name]) and set pcsx-hwa to 1

I've already tried it in the new build and the emulator slowed down to a crawl and had all sorts of rendering issues, unfortunately. I am very glad with the fact that it's able to run Rollcage at full speed, though, and bonapart's (and others) efforts to port it for use on Maemo is very inspirational. Edit: Code:
~ $ cd /opt/maemo/usr/games;./psx4m-gles -frameskip 2 -nosound -showfps -runcd /home/user/MyDocs/Emulation/PS1/rc.img Edit2: Although the psx4m-gles core doesn't work, ReArmed+gles does. It doesn't run the game at full speed yet (about 90%), obviously, but the new rendering option makes the game look great. ReArmed: http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/105...1021523340.png ReArmed - OpenGLES rendering: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/7...1021523373.png http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/431...1021523395.png This is amazing. |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Hey guys!
I don't know if this interests all, but as I love GTA, gta 2 now has the textures that were missing. ( using new rearmed version ) Thanks bona! |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
It blows my mind to watch games like wipeout 2097 run full speed without gles acceleration. It's only a shame that the framerate seems to take a nosedive when you get hit with mines dropped by opponents, because it's otherwise perfect.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I can't install the PSX4M-gui, it says application packages missing libqt4-core ( =4.7.0 git .......etc) . Do I need to be PR 1.3 ? I already have psx4m psx4mgles pcsxrearmed and even psx4mdbg already installed. Can someone clarify it for me?
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
gleydsonpr: to use gui you should have pr1.3

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
GLES Rendering errors:
pcsx -gles is incapable of correctly rendering rocket explosions in Rollcage and Rollcage: Stage II due to a misallocated texture. Both games will slown down to a crawl until the emulator no longer has to process the faulty texture (which are both actually the backgrounds of the loading screens). Quote:

GLES screenshots: Quote:
The PS3's native PS1 emulator doesn't support hardware acceleration and merely upscales the image, making it look extremely blurry and pixelated. I don't have a PayPal account as the standard in the Netherlands for online payment is iDeal, but I'll make sure to create one soon and send some cash your way for your efforts. Edit: Do you guys want me to record a video? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Thanks Bonapart. I am lazy to upgrade to 1.3 and afraid to loose some app functionality but I should upgrade soon, does pcsx support .img games format or only .iso? Thank you for the great work.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I attempted a download of a PS emulator a while ago and am only revisitng this now.
Ae they now much more improved or do we still have the sound issues in games? I remember Resident Evil being slow with sloooooow speech |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
great work bonapart!!
Ive tried a few of games out, all work without open gles fine. Ridge racer type 4 starts but has none of open gles acceleration or texture blending/mip mapping. gdarius works with gles, looks to have black edges around alphas texture issues on the, some sort of premultiplication problem. crash bandicoot 3 works with gles but still has the Zbuffer xray issues megaman legends works with gles. same black edges around alpha textures such as clouds. crashbash works pretty well with gles but not as fps wise with gles off. hope this info is useful in someway. cheers nick |
