He's now running the Sailfish side of things...
There has to be some separation between the Sailfish Alliance, & Jolla.

Does anyone has an idea of how deep the social networking is integrated into Sailfish???

What particular part of the social networks are you talking about here?

Re: Jolla Sailfish Is stunning! Now on video!

I hope social networking isnt too integrated (except skype)

to me they are feeds and notifications from those are annoying, if they are integrated, I hope that there is a way to turn them off like on the N9 you can turn off the facebook feed.

There's a difference between being someone who appreciates 1 or more platforms, & a pure, unadulterated, troll....
You fall well & truly into the latter category, the concept seems foreign to you, that or you don't have the ability to learn, or just get a buzz from ****-stirring.
I'm betting that you get a buzz from ****-stirring, your behaviour has completely demonstrated that by now, I'm guessing you'd be a classy guy to know IRL.

The irony is strong with this one...

Regardless. I wonder when will the announcements of phones will be coming out for Jolla beyond China. I'm in the need of a new phone... like right now.

They already said before or by Summer* (Winter here) it'll be available, full details in Q1 apparently...
But I doubt it'll be more than China & maybe a few EU countries WRT local distribution/support, for everyone else it'll probably be online-only**, for starters.
So if you're needing something NOW, I wouldn't be waiting around if I were you....

*what's the official date for Northern Hemisphere Summer, round the end of June isn't it?
**with warranty & support still I imagine, but not as great as having locally based warranty/support ofc.

Jolla? Would you ever buy ANYTHING from JOLLA? Those presentations were so amateurish and childish. I am flabbergasted that they raised a single cent

Oh poor little Jalo. Mommy was not nice to you. You really can't distinguish reality from fantasy. He more intelligent next time you respond and I am surprised you are not banned for such a foul language. Oh how they tolerate fools on this forum

Foul language, where did I use foul language towards you?
"****-stirrer" is a colloquialism used commonly in Australia, it's not a personal affront like; dick-head or ****wit... look-it-up.
The only fool in this exchange is you mate....
Someone who can keep up such a sustained/obsessive hatred toward a tiny/insignificant community is surely unwell.

There's still some months to go. I doubt we get the announcement right in January.

Also just a reminder that at the very least DNA operator in Finland will carry the phone on launch and i would imagine many of the non operator stores will carry the phone in Finland as well.
Jolla had also previously hinted that web store will be a important sales channel for them. Their own web store or web stores in general? No idea.

This is what you got right: it is insignificant. When you are insignificant you have to be creative and revolutionary. none of it is happening here. Jolla is not creative nor revolutionary. Call it the way it is, and move on with better ideas. Buttressing poor show by Jolla with wishful fantasies equates to a definition of delusion.

There's no problem with mentioning WP here, it's far more wide open & flexible than most forums out there, you alone (among others) are a massive testament to that.
Ofc if it becomes the sole focal point of discussion (which you tend to want), then don't be surprised if it gets regulated or moved to the appropriate sub-forum, there's nothing wrong with that.
If you think that's horrid treatment, well... you srsly need to re-check your objectivity meter...

Android wasn't creative or revolutionary, it had a savvy business model that exploited a slow/reactive Nokia, iOS sure as hell wasn't in the 1st few years, aside from some aspects of the UX.
Who's "buttressing poor show with wishful fantasies", you keep repeating this, as though you want so badly for it to be true, what's that about?
If there was some creative or revolutionary aspects WRT UX, functionality, dev approach, organisational structure, whatever, you'd refuse to see them anyway.

I dont get it , Lumiaman.
N9 had been axed by Nokia. Maemo definitely dying. Jolla not even worth to be trolled, heck they don't even have any physical smartphone yet.
What with the hate you have against Jolla/ex maemo team? Why must you demotivate things that not even confirmed to be outstanding? What's your objective to troll every single Jolla thread?

jalyst 2012-12-05 04:35

Re: Jolla Sailfish Is stunning! Now on video!

^Forewarning; that's inviting the same fanciful/propaganda-ish responses he's spewed for mths now, don't expect something truly objective or interesting/insightful, I wait in hope.

I believed in them. I bought more of their phones than many of you combined, and they failed me as a user. I don't hate them. I want to offer criticism so that they learn. Only if you are critical, can you reach the cutting edge. Trolls are losers that can't objectively evaluate the product. Jolla doesn't need a fan club, they need to be told what needs to be done to get competitive. And if this is the team that brought us Maemo and Harmattan, they better wake up and listen to the consumer.

If that so, you'd better critic them directly to their twitter @account. Not here. You gain nothing if you critic them here, as I never see any Jolla representative (that have relation to Sailfish development) posts around TMO. I stand corrected.

There is a guy..stskeeps or something like that

Dave999 2012-12-06 13:34

I think stskeeps is to bissy working and to be here with us and posting or what ever we are doing? He might not be as good as us when it comes to multitasking. Posting...working...posting...working....posting.. .looking for jolla information...working...posting. time to go home :D

he might be more like a windows phone and we are sailfish phone.

Re: Jolla Sailfish Is stunning! Now on video!

This might sound but to some extent I agree with Lumiaman, we need to give harsh feedback to improve upon(Constructive criticisms).
BUT that kind of feedback does not belong in TMO, contact Jolla directly via Twitter, Facebook, email, IRC and ect. Quite soon they'll have a bug tracker as well.

So atm Lumiaman your just trolling and not really contributing to the subject

If Jolla members partook in creating Maemo and Harmattan, they better read this forum.

I can't argue with that and they really should start saying something new about their own forum, IRC does suffice me but that's not for everyone

Unfortunately I don't think they will create active support a forum. Like they somehow managed to get input for their SDK from their "community" without releasing it to us and so we are not a part of that so I think they shall stay at IRC as the tiny company they are.

Stskeeps 2012-12-09 18:09

Re: Jolla Sailfish Is stunning! Now on video!

I still read these threads but if you want to have any official responses, this is through jolla.com, the Twitter account (@JollaMobile) or through e-mails with press@jolla.com.

I'm not personally participating here anymore due to that moderation isn't functioning properly here and sane discussion gets drowned out by poisonous people into off-topic way too often. It doesn't enable for good discussion and that's not productive for anybody involved.

People are welcome to come, discuss and participate on #jollamobile on irc.freenode.net, organize in communities of their own choice and participate in software projects such as Mer or Nemo Mobile which Sailfish bases upon.

Regarding SDK, we had organized hackday in Helsinki and feedback from people attempting to use the SDK and commenting on it within their communities or blogs or whichever. Quality feedback - including many who got involved to help improve the SDK. Code is king. Talk is cheap.

Many in Jolla originate from product efforts, open source projects and communities, including this one. We do our very best - including learning from mistakes of the past and not repeating them.

Dave999 are you a m0r0n? Or just post for no reason?

What is your problem? as already stated plenty of times they are in public, They are workign in WITH the mer community. if you cant use twitter, IRC or facebook thats your own fault.

If you think Jolla would read on this failing forum you're really are naive.

This forum is just garbage. And a should not even care to reply your message. Problem this time was I forgot to login means even if your in the ignore list a saw you post

Yet another reason too kill this forum ASAP. Because 99% of posts here are pointless sh1t anyway! And evcerytime I come here there is a new threads or posts that make me wonder why the f?ck I bother to use any time here

Dave999 2012-12-09 20:47

Re: Jolla Sailfish Is stunning! Now on video!

I guess a little of both!

But Who is really the *****? You forgot to log in so you just had to answer...I say that is pretty stupid.

I can use it, but use it for other stuff than mer and jolla. Twitter is out of the question. Why do you care what I do? Take care of your own trolling.

Also, I think you should stay way from here since you don't like to discuss jolla, sailfish and other stuff. Why don't you just fade away?

I say your posts here are as stupid as mine. you just don't see it. Please add yourself to your own ignore list.

I'm waiting here impatiently. So get behind me or get out of my way :)
