Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

CalDAV improvements have been trickling through pretty steadily I think, but I doubt all of them will have made it in time for update9 (though I have no idea, really):

https://github.com/nemomobile/buteo-...commits/master

It should be expected that things that aren't explicitly mentioned will be done as well (to the people saying "why wasn't this mentioned, I want it!") - but the best way to make it happen is to 'scratch your own itch' where things are in the open :)

*edit* ah, there is a specific update9 branch, too: https://github.com/nemomobile/buteo-...ommits/update9

Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

There are ways to get pre-releases of it. I wouldn't recommened it! (and no, I don't have it on my Jolla)

If you brick your device with a pre-release, you won't get any support from Jolla to fix it.

Don't you need a Jolla dev account for that? I mean, something along those lines is said on the Developer Mode page in System Settings.

Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

no pre-releases, just some inside information from sailors. commits was merged and approved for update9, and dpurgin's callrecorder was tested with new functionality and working good.

Just because it supports CalDAV doesn't mean it's using it. I would bet good money against it given the number of fixes still going into the buteo CalDAV code.

Updates can come at any given point. Heck, a few years ago, Motorola rolled out a major Android update over Christmas. So you never know, maybe Jolla decides to release it on a Monday :)

So, the update is a woman, because 2 weeks ago, she said: "i'll just need 5 more minutes, i'm just around the corner", makes sense :)

I think I will wait and see how it is before updating, I need my phone to be reliable

Seems like quite a few people are getting issues with their apps not starting or not working properly

Mine's been totally freaky last few weeks. Random reboots galore (no led flashing, just blacl screen then jolla logo and if lucky once (i think i found new reason for reboots: bright sunlight, not enough to be sure but 4 times already going onto balcony from inside room caused a reboot loop, either plugging in or battery out helps), if unlucky bootloop). I took my n900 to take picture of iOs+Jolla (greeks with their screwy alphabet spell it Ios, whatevs), one interesting thing: make sure jolla sees the wepsecured network you try to access, half of them are unavailable. Other than that it's been great, but good poiny, might wait with the update until back with pc on hand

Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

Updated without problems.

The browser is much better than before. The browser is smooth, doubletap zoom works reliably, you can open tabs from links without loosing original position in original. And back button remembers the position of previous page (almost; the link is pushed to the bottom of the display, but good enough).

I think I can now stop using Android Firefox.

That's good to hear! I love Webcat but I can't set it as default browser so some links open in Jolla default browser so I still have to use it sometimes and now that it works better per your report I'm happy about that :)

I can still see problems with double clicking for zoom here at talk.maemo.org on the right side Active Topics panel. :(

Edit: Also does not remember zoom state of previous page.

I've always considered that a feature rather than a bug. I actually find it quite useful.

I don't notice any kind of problem by clicking that panel and I'm using uitukka.
Edit: oh it did happen 1 time of 10 clicks.

Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

the browser update is great:
no more waiting after zooming, until the page renders
no more random clicking of links, caused by offset
in total faster and smoother

there will be always two sides of story, i would prefer to go back to same place where i got randomclicked to register, no need to scroll and zoom in once again to try reply once more to get once more to register site ti go back and scroll and zoom and...

edit: after being cooled down by javispedro that getting x on j is not some kernel hackery with extensive knowlegde of libhybris browser is literally my last gripe with jolla (except fingerterm, but this will be a nonissue qith hwkboh and x)

First bug found: MeeCast's cover is broken; just a black cover with no cover actions :(

And booting is a lot slower as well. No big deal, but I wish it'd show something instead of a black screen for a couple of seconds.

No problem here, still working like a charm.:D

Booting is not the biggest problem, but I do miss MeeCast's cover :( Other app covers work fine, only the one from MeeCast is broken.
