Yes, it should be fixed in the next update (or at least i think that was ceene say if i don´t remember bad, he have to confirm).

I am uploading right now a new version with this and a lot of other things solved as well. Sorry, I haven't had time to investigate the ghost contact issue, but given that I've changed a few things about how contacts are reported back (basically I've solved the group names and group members things) I wouldn't be surpised if the ghost contact stops appearing, although it's only a guess.

I'll be posting a full update soon.

Hi!

Version 2.0.4 has been released to extras-devel.
I won't be promoting this until tomorrow, to avoid exposing too much people too fast to a new release.

This is the changelog:

• Fixed group commands (listing members, title, etc)
  This should solve lots of issues: missing names, missing titles, ability to change group subject, etc.
• "X is typing" functionality restored and implemented for groups
  This now works again for individual chats and now, on groups, instead of saying "Name of the group is typing", the name of the last person that started typing will appear.
• "Last seen functionality" fixed (cepiperez)
  Thank cepiperez for this, he provided main code for this fix.
• Report read messages only when chat window is made active
  This is a request from a few messages ago, I didn't think about this but previous to this fix, blue ticks were sent when the chat window was open, now it only happens if chat window is active.

Known issues:

• Registration update.
  CODeRUS has already sent me a pull request. Due to a bad timing, this didn't make it to latest release, but will definitely on the next one.
• There's still a ghost contact.
• The "Last seen functionality" won´t change for the contacts that you already have a open conversation, you have to delete that conversation and open again, then it works. For others contacts (that you don´t have an open conversation), won´t update "Last seen functionality" in the view window until you open a conversation.

I hope you enjoy this release, I believe we are now up to date to the functionality we had previous to the protocol change.

At fisrt sight, still got the ghost contact, anyway, is not a big problem and you can fix other stuff that got priority, i can wait.

The "Last seen functionality" won´t change for the contacts that you already have a open conversation, you have to delete that conversation and open again, then it works.

For others contacts (that you don´t have an open conversation), won´t update "Last seen functionality" in the view window until you open a conversation.

I am really sorry for asking this, but I do not understand what the difference between an “active chat window” and an “open chat window” is? Could you give me a hint? :confused:

So… let’s say message comes in, Yappari is only running in the background (little blue icon on the top, but no window open) pop up shows – indicates that there is a new message, disconnect to internet… no blue ticks send? That’s what happens in whatsapp… at least I think so…

What do you think about getting rid of last seen altogether? I am totally willing to give this up, but then I don’t want others to see it either. Or maybe make this information optional. In whatsapp there is always the workaround with disconnecting to wlan… but since Yappari displays the user always as online, even if it is only running in the background… this will not work.:p
I would just like to know what you think of it?

Added a new issue, this one I found a long time ago in a far away version and is still there, happens when lost connection, it's a bit difficult to reproduce.

Groups are fixed for me, bust still showing phone numbers instead of people's nicknames. Thanks for the work :D

Found another issue, in this one the group owner is not shown, this prevent adding participants to groups I own. Found a solution for this :), patch posted in github.

Half-fixed.... When you set it, it shows on the other person's Whatsapp, but you won't see it yourself in Yappari.

Like reported, last-seen now works (but only in a new conversation), but the log still shows it as feature-not-implemented. But well done so far, Yappari is almost back to its old functionality + extras, and that only a few weeks after a protocol change..! Nice work!

Hi guys it's really strange, since this morning till now 5.00 PM - UTC+7 my yappari cannot login. :confused: only showing connecting.. status. is it WA server problem or, they make moving once more..?

Anyone facing the same problem here..?:confused:

well, i try WA on pidgin and WA on bluestack both of them had the same problem. so i think it's WA server problem.

use WART on PC to acquire a password, then paste the new password in yappari.conf (which is in /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.conf )

I didn't know there were people trying to register.

I'll be uploading a new version with registration fixed in a few hours (I can't do it right now, sorry, I'm writing this through the phone).

Please, if you keep registering with another client and changing back to yappari over and over again, know that you are risking getting banned by Whatsapp. I do not recommend that.

As promised, here is latest 2.0.5 version, with registration fixed. It'll also be available soon in the repos.

Thank CODeRUS, because I made a mistake and undid a commit that was very much needed. He saw that and told me, but it was late for the 2.0.4 release.

Also, I didn't know there were people trying to register again... that's always a surprise, though it's no excuse for the mistake I made with that commit.

I've also pushed myself to make this release a little bit more useful too for us, so I've fixed the little thing that was remaining with status change (it was funny that everyone could see our status except us, so it is now solved).

I hope you enjoy this release.

Thanks Yappari is working again.
I never tried to register again the application suddently asked for a new registration. I did used Yappari and pidgin whatsapp-plugin at the same time before.

The 1.x line of Yappari used to update the last-seen time when a chat window was open. 2.x doesn't appear to do this. Can this feature please be added back in?
