Did it with debian chroot and followed the instructions in the link you provided. The language inside the lxde is danish but it does not work when i start open off. from inside lxde then its back to us layout. The good thing is that it works if i use the desktop shortcut and start it from there then i have the danish keyboard layout  Anyway the open off got back to being usefull again :D

Thanks for your help rebhana :)

e: Maybe i did not put the @setxkbmap da (asume thats danish) line in right place of the /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart. Is it suppose to be the last line (7)?

Evidently, "da" is not recognized. (The debbie desktop application just takes over from Maemo, so doesn't need this.) In LXDE, try "dano" (for Danish/Norwegian) or "nordic" (for Danish/Norwegian/Finnish/Swedish), those assignments exist on the Maemo side, while there is no "da" keymap in Maemo's rx51 file.

EDIT: I've collected all keymap labels from /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/nokia_vndr/rx-51 and listed them in the wiki instructions for localization.

iceweasel is just another name for firefox, so that will have the same problem with kompozer, I think.

For hacking kompozer's mozilla-run.sh you would of course need some basic knowledge of shell scripts. But you could just give it a try and open that in an editor, have a look whether a specific browser is called therein, and replace it by /usr/bin/epiphany-gecko. But also epiphany is based on Mozilla, so I wouldn't give it too much hope.

The executable is /usr/bin/epiphany-gecko. There is also a lib containing plugins: /usr/lib/epiphany-gecko/2.22/plugins/libdesktopfileplugin.so

EDIT: before wasting too much time, I would look for an alternative to kompozer. Unfortunately, I'm of no help here - I just don't use WYSIWYG editors. (I then see what I get and never know how to get what I want...)

I can edit the code and use filezila and say bluefish. I can store java online...however I like to get a visual preview of the code simply (i studied etching)Im not sure if bluefish does that..Is Bluefish on squeeze ? I would like to know why kompozer does not work! I cant think of a better place to ask this question.

regards

Bluefish is already in lenny. You can check the Debian archive here: http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages#search_packages . There "Stable" refers to lenny, and "Testing" to squeeze.

That did the trick. It works now in open off. when i start it from drop down menu in lxde :D

Once again thanks for the help rebhana :)

e: So the line to put in the autostart file is <@setxkbmap dano> for the danish/norwegian keyboard layout :)

Warning: this version does NOT work with recent GNU/Linux distros.
KompoZer 0.7 is not compatible with GTK ≥ 2.14 — expect crashes. If you’re using a Linux distro that ships KompoZer 0.7.10 with GTK ≥ 2.14, please inform the package maintainers about this.

does that scuper me plans?

I also looked at http://www.kompozer.net/ now, and it says that this was fixed in version 0.8. Debian actually ships 0.8 so there should be no problem in principle.

Having become curious, I installed kompozer on my Debian laptop, and there it actually works. Installing it in Easy Debian on the N900 however crashes exactly as you described.:(
