I have the same issue, however Im taking this as a lesson and just never deal with them again. If I knew other retailers were getting shipment soon id maybe reject it but its more of a hassle. Apparantly, they charge yur card before it actually ships.

From reading the last couple of pages, I just wanted to again pass along my experience with Amazon USA so others who might not have seen it might benefit.

In talking with customer service about the $50 rebate, I was told that canceling one's pre-order and re-ordering will, in fact, move them to the back of the line. Although the new order still *might* ship at the same time as earlier ones, this will depend on how many pre-orders are placed and what type of shipping you select (eg overnight shipping actually leaves the warehouse earlier than super savers, regardless of pre-order date)

Also, the customer service rep I spoke with manually changed the price in my account to reflect an immediate $50 rebate...no need to re-order or mail it in after purchase.

Although there have been conflicting reports on these details (see spinnukur's posts for a different take), I wanted to post again so others might not miss out. Also, more calls to customer service might put a little pressure on Amazon managers to hustle up a bit...

No shipping on my order again.... Nokia UK you are severly pumpin my nads. What they told me so far in the past fortnight;

Monday the 9th deffo, then before Friday the 12th deffo, then Monday 16th deffo, then, before Friday 19th, then just before this weekend deffo shipped on Monday.

I got that email from Nokia online store Finland last thursday saying that credit cards will be charged on Friday, but after that NOTHING has changed. My cc has not been charged, my account at nokia online store still says the device isn’t shipped. Again an “announcement” and then waiting – for how long this time. Couple of days, weeks, months -- I do NOT believe N900 exist before they are able to deliver one

Nokia.fi webstore emailed me shipment notice on Friday, the phone arrived today (Finland) before noon. All good. More comments in the owners / first impressions thread.

Was pre-ordered about 1-2 weeks ago from Nokia.fi webstore.

My credit limit has been decreased by 500~ and is not posted fully since it is a new transaction. See attachment for Amazon status. I took the liberty of censoring personal or identifiable information.

I subtracted my one, small, recent purchase on my CC and it looks like Amazon charged me the original price. I'm going to wait for it to go all the way through before I call and gripe.

Update of elivery state in Germany:

Nokia just took their date of nov 25 from their site. Now no date given at all. :confused:
www.handyattacke.de and www.mobilejoker.de : expected january :eek:
Cyberport, ProMarkt and ComputerUnverse : no clue :(

They don't want to give us our toys.

Umm.... So I went ahead and called Amazon.com. If you pre-ordered and did not ask for a price change, you might want to call and get it changed now if the price is lower than when you ordered. They said unfortunately I would not get the $529.99 price even though I told them the exact date it changed, but they did change it to the $549.99 price. Sigh... So much for relying on some people's information that it would change when it is shipped.

It WAS the price late last week. Now the web site has it at $549.99. If you have pre-ordered & want that price, you have to contact Amazon's customer service and ask for it as a change to your pre-order. They will be happy to do that for you. For the $529.99, you may have to wait for that number to come back around to get it, though contact customer service and ask... worse they can say is no.
