The community around SnapDragons processors seems quite active with now a new open source Vulkan driver for Adreno 500 and 600 series, as found in the SD835 of the F(x) if I am right (Adreno 540 according to wikipedia), that has been merged in Mesa.
Not sure if any of the expected OS can already use Vulkan in place of OpenGL, and what their relative performances would be, but it looks good for the future. |

That's true, but there is also Linux Deploy with all its quirks and Snapdragon 835 supports Displayport Alt.
