Mmm, glad I had them change mine. Also had them pro-rate the shipping to free 2 day because I saw it on the site a few days ago. Amazon is the bees knees :P

they are refunding you a shipping amount that you haven't even been billed for yet? that's much better service than they are giving me. i asked to have my price changed to the lower amount and the rep refused..promised me i would get be charged the lowest amount that the phone ever was listed at between the date of my preorder and shipping date...she said she didn't want to manually change my price because it would "mess with the system"

I do blame Newegg a little bit though I think Nokia takes the lion's share of the blame. This whole N900 "pre-order" fiasco officially makes "Nokia pre-order" essentially meaningless. What the hell is the point of placing a "pre-order" if the retailers can't start filling the "pre-orders" once it has been "released"? :mad::mad::mad:

its got to be awesomely embarassing for amazon that they've been taking pre orders for months and one of their marketplace sellers (probably some guy working out of his basement) has the phones in stock and ready to ship first.

I get the impression that whatever factory is spinning these things out must be either very small, or is moving very slowly or something. Maybe they're only able to make like 200 a day or something like that.

Somehow I doubt they have it. It is quite likely they have the option to order the device there but will ship when it is in stock.

Just got off the phone from a 30 minute call from 1 866 59 NOKIA agent who claimed to be a supervisor. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said she was a supervisor and my call could not be escalated higher. She said that since that there was no tracking number associated with my order it was not likely to ship before Wednesday. She later admitted that NOKIA USA was not shipping preorder N900s.

Wrong. Customers call Nokia, Customers call all levels of Nokia. and Nokia dose not care! They clearly do not care enough to make any kind of an effort to help customers understand delays. They lie and they misdirect. They have an excuse for everything and its never their fault. Its like dealing with a 10 year old child. If they pretend there is no problem, then the is no problem. Nokia understands logistics full well. the pay people huge amounts of money to be efficient and cost effective. Days and ever hours cost huge amounts of money. Lets stop making excuses for a multi billion dollar company.

Most likely the guy obtained a phone or two from NY's Nokia Store and is reselling them for a higher price. Nice profit he's making.

I just spent another 45 minutes on the phone with Nokia USA Customer care who are located in the Philippines. They were not able to provide the Nokia Care Protect as I originally ordered, the over night shipping I originally ordered or a date when my September 23rd preorder would ship. The agent did say that his current understanding was that the N900 was released but not shipping and that they were trying to ship out all the preorders before the release date. This confirms the order status supervisors statement that the N900 is not shipping.

Hey guys and gal(s), just to update you with more information regarding my September 16th pre-order at Amazon.com.

I called my credit card company and indeed the transaction went through. They told me they are waiting for the merchant to post it to my account.

I just hope they follow-up with a credit to my account for the lowered pre-order price. I will raise hell if they don't. Okay maybe not that, but I will rain arrows from heaven. Ok, ok, I'll stop..

I pre-ordered mine at Amazon on the 16th but there hasn't been any change to my account. It still says "Not Yet Shipped". I am an Amazon prime member and I selected overnight when I pre-ordered it. I changed my price twice.

It looks like Amazon is shipping according to the price on the pre-order. So far there was one guy who paid the full MSRP and now ciaomatteo who was paying 589. It may be something in their software that organizes the shipments that way.

Still funny that it's happening on such a small scale. You'd expect them to ship a few hundred at the very least. Maybe all those receiving shipments are people who ordered way back, paid full price and never came on the boards so they are not aware of the price changes...

Got email from noreply_NokiaFIOnlineShop(at)nokia.com saying that my CC has been charged and the N900 been shipped at 24.11.2009 by normal transportation (= 3 to 5 days) with no kind of tracking code, but anyway it is now possible that I get my device on Friday, nah. . Monday if no new sudden delays come up

my authorization is still there since friday for the full amount. they claim once the item is released to shipping there is no way to cancel, ive tried. I am still being jerked around with no tracking and no shipment info. they quickly try to get rid of me on the phone.

They ended up the same way. Some people from Amazon getting it before pre-orders from NokiaUSA. Then the whole systematic canceling of pre-orders on NokiaUSA. Etc.

Well, I called and they said they were going to credit me so I can get the $549.99 price. I emailed them before that and asked the same thing I did when I called and I got a response a few hours after I called from the email correspondent and the representative said they will give me the lower $529.99 price for this one time because there was such a huge difference in price.

My status still says shipping soon.
