Just a quick question: are you using the 9-homescreen thingie (a.k.a. modified hildon desktop)? Because apparently, someone else has already encountered that same problem: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=71000.

You may need to remove the 9 home screen modification first if you want to install CSSU: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=2265

You might want to see this as well: http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU/Installation_FAQ. This will revert your homescreen to default (4 home screens). Then proceed to installing CSSU.

If you still want the 9 homescreens, follow this (after installing CSSU): http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...8&postcount=12

hi pips! nasubukan nyo na ba yung CuteTube QML? pangdownload po siya ng Youtube Videos (ngayon eh sinusubukan na rin ni marxian yung vimeo saka dailymotion).

the developer, marxian, joined the Meego coding competition and since i'm a newbie, i can't vote (marxian told me that you need to be at least a four-month-old member to vote). hope you guys can vote for him. you can try the app, it's in extras-devel. it's really good and is not lacking in the looks department either.

edit: i just checked the competition website. seems like the poll isn't up yet. hehe magfofollowup post na lang po ako dito kapag may poll na. :)

Yep, you can see the competition rules on the wiki page here along with a list of entries so far and details how you can take part yourself :) Voting won't take place until after the July 31st deadline.

By the way, im heading back to Phils in September - anything exciting happening then?

hi kojacker!
are you by any chance a filipino (even by a tiny fraction)?

Im from the UK and I'm afraid i don't have any filipino in my ancestory. I'm Northern Irish, my family were originally from Scotland, and before that their ancestors were Vikings i believe! So I'm almost everything except filipino :P

I'm glad you get some rain, you can't have beautiful weather all the time! That's greedy! We have rain almost 24*7 in UK, except when it snows, and it never gets too hot unfortunately.. If you have some spare sunshine perhaps you can share with us? We will gladly share some snow in return ;)

What's the mobile scene like in Phils? I know everyone has a mobile (or 'cp' as I hear it called a lot there) and everyone's always texting, are there many mobile app development companies or developers there? How about on this thread, many of you guys develop something for the N900 (for example)?

Oh we had too much sunshine for the quite a while here. I work for a water utility and we almost had some serious problems in our water supply, good thing rain started pouring again. hehe Maybe because of my job, I'm not one to share your dislike for some downpour. ;)

Mobile scene here in the Philippines? Much of the young ones replace phones quite frequently, buy-and-sell's of relatively new units are common online.
Nokia still sells much on the lower priced units, though I'm sure they're having some problems with lots of cheaper phones from China being locally rebranded. We still got some Nokia fanboys here but they're getting somewhat endangered. Android's got great pull here too. Most discussions in "cp" forums are about android this and that. iphone's got some shares though I'm not so sure where it currently stands here, it's pretty pricey and this is a developing country afterall. hehe Plus I don't work in the metro so I'm not so sure about the in things in the big city.

I'm not sure about mobile development companies, I'm from a different field. Totally non-IT. hehe I actually posted a question in this thread asking who among us develops app. I got no replies so far. hehe And the N900's a pretty old device so our thread's also a bit low on traffic.

So you've been to the Philippines before? I hope you enjoy your return visit. We got lots of great places here, too bad I can't recommend much based on first hand experience, I'm not much of a traveller. hehe But I've been to Bohol, that I can say is a great place!

Ah Bohol - that's the chocolate hills place, right? i asked a tour guide if I could taste the hill to confirm it was chocolate and she said that it would not be possible, and that I shouldnt come to Bohol as there was no chocolate there at all. So sad. Maybe someday i will visit. I been a few times to Philippines, mainly Makati and Boracay. I prefer the beach more than the city, and I would like to try Palawan next time. Where abouts in Phils are you from?

Thanks for the Phils mobile background, it seems strange that a developer's phone like the N900 wouldnt have any developers from Phils. Maybe we should try encourage that more, with a Filipino themed app. Although I don't know what it could be.. maybe a slideshow of Manny Ps knock outs with Jovit singing in the background... "faaaaiithfulllllyyyy"..

haha. Is Jovit that popular? I think Arnel Pineda, Apol of BEP, or Charice Pempengco would be better.
Makati and Boracay? There are lots of better places here! Bohol and/or Palawan should definitely be in your itinerary.
I work in Olongapo. It's actually a nice place. There are lots of tourist spots here and in nearby towns.

edit: Yup. Bohol is the Chocolate Hills place. I doubt you'll see the chocolate if you'll arrive in Sept, they are usually green during that season. :)
