As for your other questions: I have tried Evolution but it is very difficult to use due to the layout of the app and the low resolution of the N900's screen. I have not used it to synch with anything.

Yes, I get stuck in the setup screens... Even copied the .gconf/apps/evolution directories to debbie, but no luck so far. Evolution refuses to continue without setup.

A pity, because I wanted to start 'evolution -c calendar' and take my chances, but still this d*mned configuration screen...

Kdepim is the KDE 3 version, which has no obvious sync with Gcalendar.

Is there a chance that this could work on the N900 in easy debian Gimp and haw to install if yes?

GIMP OpenRaster support

* file-ora – Plug-in that allows you to open and save MyPaints native file format with GIMP

Hello beta testers!

I have made almost all of the changes requested by rebhana / hstende, and I have uploaded a new image file. I really need some testers to download and run it, ESPECIALLY if you have localisation issues with LXDE (i.e. the "Information" problem) or you are using rebhana's "su user - " method of accessing the chroot.

Download this file: debian-m5-v3c.img.ext2.lzma

If you are extracting on-device, the suggestion in the bug report that I started but can only barely follow now (it has gotten extremely technical) is to extract your lzma files in /home/user/MyDocs/core-dumps because it is much faster (lma says 3 minutes for v3b!).

I don't see why it shouldn't work (but haven't tried myself). Mypaint 0.8.2 is in the squeeze repository, which you have to activate first (uncomment in /etc/apt/sources.list in Debian chroot). See http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian#In...g_Applications.

Thanks for link once again rebhana :)

Can't seem to find this line in the sources.list:
#deb http://http.at.debian.org/debian squeeze main contrib non-free
It looks like this in the sources.list
#deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian squeeze main contrib non-free
I have downloaded the file.ora from the link i provided, its a python program is there a way to install that so i dont have to go about the easy chroot thing you pointed to

Link has been fixed. Please try again!

debian-m5-v3c.img.ext2.lzma

Dousan: The line in the sources list is correct, rebhana just used a local mirror instead of the US mirror when adding that info to the wiki.

Thanks for the info qole :)

Have located the mypaint file now. Just have one question: It looks like it's the whole mypaint program, is that correct? Cause i thought it would be the file-ora plugin for the Gimp to use in easy debian, that was what i was after from the beginning (correct me if i'm wrong about the mypaint). I have the mypaint app installed thanks to anders_gud. I just cant open the files from mypaint other than in mypaint. So I searched the web and found that plugin for gimp, but its for the pc. I thought it might work on the N900 :D So that is basically my question can I get that plugin to work on my N900 or is the mypaint that rebhana pointed me to the same plugin or is that mypaint program able to open .ora extensions? Yes i'm slightly confused :D

As I said, I haven't tried anything, so I just pointed you to the mypaint package in squeeze, but that you already have as you say. I see that there are additional gimp packages in squeeze containing just plug-ins which you could try. If you know the name of the plugin, you can also search on http://packages.debian.org#search_contents
