Oh, the theme will be called NEON, and more image sets, (hopefully better) will be created. Note that I did those looping image sets above using Photoshop, and I am still a newcomer to Photoshop, I used to use GIMP before.

if i'm not mistaken we already have themes called NEON in Repo...

Edit : yes confirm that NEON themes already exists....

Yep. Queen Beecon for someplayer with windows phone 7 style icons I found. The album art is qml quick widgets.

Still not much new except my new mediaplayer screen. Made a template to put all images with that black lining. The black gives you some space to place widgets and such, looks IHMO better than directly on the wallpaper. If someone have another cool penguin wallpaper please gimme :P

Tried to search about this but so far with no success - does anyone know if/how we can resize the contact shortcuts on desktop? The pic size is quite tiny and I wanted to make it a bit bigger. Thanks.

! Good Tips for wallpapers: !

:) You can use Panorama (on ovistore, free) to create extra wide (4 desktops) wallpapers.

:) Resize (with cut function -) ANY photo on your PC to 3200x480 and use (including the Panorama shots * Use Photoscape softare to crop * Assign ratio size ) WPCreator (application manager) to make four wallpapers with continuous slide.

:) Use "Live Wallpaper" (application manager) and install "Xscrensaver" too. Offers a lot of build-in animated digital walls, slideshow, take videos with your n900 an put them like wallpapers (with mute sound!)
for live wallpaper is best to overclock the CPU to 805.

- if you can't find this app. go to application manager and add the maemo-extras testing/ devel catalogues.

Okay. The theme I am using is hydro-carbon with the status bar removed by using theme customizer. Everything on the desktop is queen beecon widget. The media player buttons are using windows phone 7 copy icons that I found. If you need any of the commands, just let me know.

Okay, if you are new to this, I will try to point you in the right direction. For example, for the temperature of your n900 to be displayed, you will need to have power kernel installed (have a look here http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power and for more information tap "power search" in the top right of the page and type power kernel. There are various versions of the kernel, the latest being 48, but you may want to try a previous version which will have been tested and more stable.
To show the ssid of the network you are connected to, you also need something else. You need to enable the "tools repository". More information can be found here http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...5#Installation

So, depending on whether or not you decide to add power kernel and tools repository, will determine whether some of these commands work or not.

Command to show device

Oh yeah. I just made it using gimp, saved it as .png format and replaced the original task menu icon.
The font used is called opifico.

Just google opifico font, and you will come across it.
To replace icons, you need either filebox or to use ssh. ( You will also need rootsh insatlled) Then navigate to /usr/share/themes/your-theme-name/images/wmTaskLauncherIcon
rename your icon to wmTaskLauncherIcon an replace the original one (backup originals first)
As for queen beecon widget, power search for "qbw for noobs" thread, and this will help you to use it. I have to go to work now, so don't have the time to explain, but the thread is worth reading to get to learn queen beecon. It's one of the best things on this phone, and is very powerful.

Spend my day on customizing my N900,
followed this thread, thx to karam. But my shortcut bar for portrait mode didn't work and although there was this message "NOTE : ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T USE CSSU"
i installed CSSU Features Configuration Editor and i also needed this to let the shortcut bar to drop down and finaly reinstalled the two .deb files in X-terminal with dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/hd*.deb and that did the job.
Only posted screen 1 and 3, nr. 2 is for contacts en 4 is privat :D

Hi please smile. Only just noticed your request for the icon. It's nothing special. Place it in usr/share/themes/your-theme-name/images
The name of the icon that you are replacing (backup original first) is wmTaskLauncherIcon and you probably will want to change wmTaskLauncherIconPressed as well.
If you wanted to create your own icon, make the image 112x56 and .png format.

Where it says "position" change the y= value to about 20 (depending how high in the statusbar you want the command)

Yes...changing the "Y" & the "X" value does do the tricks placing any QBW in status bar area...

The only weakness is it will drop down automatic after each reboot....you have to change the value again everytime you reboot your device...
