I was really disappointed to see that this thread had fallen off the front page. My first thought was that the moderation police had deleted it...but then I realized that Chuck Norris must have done his ninja routine and snuck into Maemo Secret HQ and stared the thread out of existence with his laser beam eyes....cause that makes more sense...him being Chuck Norris and all.

I was pleased to find this thread still alive and cowering in a corner. Its ok little thread...Chuck Norris is one of the good guys! Come on everyone, get back on the horse and resume your discusifying of N900 firmware, Chuck Norris and or trout. I do recommend keeping the comments complimentary...of Chuck Norris at least. After all, he is standing right behind you*

The Sony Ericsson blog just announced that the XPERIA X10, XPERIA X10 mini and XPERIA X10 mini pro will be upgraded to Android OS 2.1 by the end of this year. :mad:

Ok, "end of this year" and "iphone preview", "release in summer".
As far as I can see, there's nothing that specifies any dates or detailed schedule whatsoever, the resolution seems to be season or at most yearly quarter. I can't really see what you mean...in what way is this more detailed than the nokia announcements? Nokia has even told us about bug fixes and release an SDK. I agree that there should be more info from them, but as far as I can tell it's no better with SE or iPhone. Besides, why do you keep comparing the N900 with these phone-only devices. N900 is a mobile computer, but with a phone feature.

Agree...Its only a mobile computer...So guys we shd have bought a phone along with the N900:o

We know for sure that's one of the reason, a Vice President, MeeGo Devices at Nokia carries an Android besides the N900...........atleast that's what his blog indicates

at least apple gave an indication of when their firmware will come. nokia didn’t even do that. With nokia its sometimes like the lottery

but if apple was selling the n900 i bet 20million more units could of got sold. dont get me wrong i dont want the n900 to be a huge device that idiots own. lol i like being one of the only one is australia for the past couple of months.

ok, agree there! But just remember also that most often the N900 has a rather different kind of customer compared to the fruit people. It's a pretty wild guess, but I'd say most N900 users DO know what the PR1.2 is....at least the ones that bought the device and didn't expect just another competitor in the line of touch-smartphones.

nokia is too busy making new phones. last week, they announced almost 3 new phones (x2, c6, n8 if im not mistaking) instead of updates on previously released devices.

On the developer day in Zurich different people from nokia mentioned more than once that the PR1.2 firmware is just around the corner. Not more and not less.

The author writes about "...Nokia must solve only 2-3 bugs..." ("...Nokia muss nur noch 2-3 Bugs beheben...") not 2-3 days.
"...Can come out today or next week. ..." ("...Kann heute oder nächste Woche rauskommen. ...").
Again - just an other rumor. And yes: we all know PR1.2 can come soon.

Don't get your hopes up about newer features in the actual PR1.2... Seems like they're having trouble with a few bugs and not the addition of a feature or two. Stupid OVI Maps.

Major issues slow down PR 1.2 release to be fixed and tested.

As the number of major issues that may come out during the stabiization phase is undefined, the PR 1.2 release date is undefined too!

It'z amazing to see that in all the developer nokia staff we have noone that bored of this thread trolled a bit about internal PR 1.2. problems and roadmap.

I like very much the trolltech approach to have developers blogs where you'll find a lot of the upcoming stuff.

Nokia should learn when buys companies.

I don't think that it's fair to compare minor Maemo firmware update to a firmware or should I say completely new OS that Apple will SELL to its' users. And, regarding that if Apple tell that upgrade will be available this summer, that is quite broad timeframe IMO, not a spesific date as many TMO users demand from Nokia.
