Re: MyMenu

i have to say ... IT'S GREAT even i can't find it in qole's repository but its fine to use apt-get to install...

But i found that the category "learn&science" is not in Upper Case
and some apps and games are not in right category . for e.g Gweled,FloboPuyo,DRNokSnes and QStarDict,Canola in "Other" instead of "Games" or "Office" and "Multimedia"
Aniway thanks for this nice app

Re: MyMenu

it is possible to rename/traduce "learn&science" to "Learn&Science" and "Lernen&Wissenschaft" oder irgendwas anderes deutsches? that would be nice.

Re: MyMenu

@zehjotkah

hmm... in the next version :-D

maybe you know a better name for german - "Lernen&Wissenschaft" is too long :-(

Re: MyMenu

oha, thats difficult... maybe: "Lernen&Wissen" ?

Re: MyMenu

edit:
The thread I linked to seems to be for an OS2008 version of PyPackager.

There is a Maemo.org "distmaster" just to help people like you (look him up on te web site). Also, there is a Python app to help create .deb packages (PyPackager I think).

PyPackager discussion thread

I haven't tried PyPackager, so I'm not sure how stable it is yet. In case it isn't, there is also a command line tool called py2deb. Documentation on how to use it is in the wiki

At any rate, thanks for the heads up, I'll check out PyPackager.

Re: MyMenu

You want py2deb if you want to get your package into the Extras repositories. I'm using it for my packages. But that app only works for non-compiled apps, like shell scripts or python apps. If you need to compile your app, you have to do it the "hard way"...

Re: MyMenu

I just installed MyMenu....wow!

The only complaint I have as of yet is of the "learn&science" folder. Perhaps "Education" or "Educational" would be a better name.

Seriously though, I'm impressed. Seems the most used apps are simply launchers where as everything else is distributed in appropriate categories. Very nice, indeed.
