As I mentioned previously that is what my experience was, also. 3rd party Wii remote was flaky at best. Found a used OEM remote, no problems.

this used to work for me, now (after not using it for a while) it shuts down after what must be less than a second. Anybody else with this?

@f2thak hi, I have hard time to configure properly the Wiimote in order to remote control the N900. Default settings can only control volume and change songs within Mediaplayer which is a good start. Also pressing A or B manage to get access to multitask windows/menu, but that's all. So I wanted to have a look on your file wiimote.zip. Unfortunately it's unavailable now. Do you know another location where I could donwload it ?

i have genuine wiimote and any game shuts down after 1-2mins.
also not being able to connect "wiimote classic" is such a downside.
somebody needs to rewrite that wiicontroll thing for the love of god!

what kind of game do you play ? snes emulated games ? Wiimote should connect pretty well. Otherwise try to describe what you do, and wich version of software (including N900 firmware) you use. Thus someone able to help could help you better.

How to use WiiMote as Gamepad for DrNokSnes:

1. make sure you have an N900 and a WiiMote
2. download and install the "Dr.NokSnes" and "WiiControl" apps from the extras repo onto your N900
3. download and move WiiControl file (in zip above) to "/usr/bin/" folder on your N900 (need help?)
4. configure DrNokSnes with the following keys:

"Use phsyical keys/keyboard only"
A = W
B = A
X = D
Y = S
Start = X
Select = Z
Up = Up
Down = Down
Left = Left
Right = Right
Return to launcher = Backspace
Fullscreen = F
**all other keys are unused**

5. put your original game file onto your N900, load and play!
(6.) this will work GLOBALLY also!! just remap keys......

How to Configure WiiControl for use with other Apps:

you need to edit the config file using any text editor: "/usr/bin/wiicontrol"

download the file above for full help to do this
