Re: iPhone 4 - Loses Reception When You Touch the Side (Who says Apple products are "Better Quality"?)
Oh wow, I didn't expect that reply. That being said, makes this guy's comment (which apparantly is the highest ranked right now on that article) pretty sad. Granted it could be said for any device.

Didn't Nokia say the same thing about the microUSB; that you're supposed to hold the phone a certain way when you disconnect that connector?
I remember a post saying just that. Hmm… |
Re: iPhone 4 - Loses Reception When You Touch the Side (Who says Apple products are "Better Quality"?)
Nokia's said a bunch of random things when it comes to the microUSB issue. I believe some of the CSRs are even doing replacements of the device.
But yeah, Nokia's no better. |
Re: iPhone 4 - Loses Reception When You Touch the Side (Who says Apple products are "Better Quality"?)
one of the apple site guys posted an old Nokia manual that had a picture/text stating that you only hold the phone in a certain way (i.e. signla degrades if you hold it wrongly) so not unprecedented
but sheeze left handers get the shaft here if the signal degredation is physically real (and it seems to be) |
Re: iPhone 4 - Loses Reception When You Touch the Side (Who says Apple products are "Better Quality"?)
I believe the N900's manual says not to block the upper left of the device.

They will sell a bunch of cases and bumpers...that's it...
I bet in one month will be over...Apple lover are already saying that in the video whoever hold the phone is doing in the wrong way and they never do that! I have a second generation iPhone that I use for work (email only) and I was going to replace it (I am qualified for upgrade) but I'm think about buying another N900 (thanks to Nokia, you can trade in up to 15 phones) or just wait for the N8 to come out and check it out! |
Re: iPhone 4 - Loses Reception When You Touch the Side (Who says Apple products are "Better Quality"?)
usually the manual says not to block one of the corners or the top, you are right....but holding the phone from the middle is a pretty big problem...

or even if you hold the phone in left hand and use your right hand to poke etc. which is very common bad design - but not catasphroic yet |
