Re: How long are you planning on keeping your n900 for?
I've been using a Samsung Galaxy-S (TMO Vibrant) for 2 weeks now, intentionally not switching back and forth. I can't say I'm thrilled with Android. It is slightly more reliable than Maemo, but several applications cause hard crashes and long pauses. I'd forgotten the challenges of a customized UI and bloatware that can't be deleted. I'll root the thing soon, but I figured I at least wait for the return policy to finish.
I really miss the Skype integration. In fact, I miss Skype completely, since Skype did an exclusive deal with Verizon in the US. For some reason they don't want anyone else in to have Skype on an Android phone. Skype lite won't work, because the main reason I set it up on my N900 is because of the less than stellar coverage in my home. But we'll see how things are a few months from now. I'm going to keep the N900 no matter what happens down the road, mostly because it's small and I think it might be collectible. And I'll also likely switch back and forth at least for a little while. |
Re: How long are you planning on keeping your n900 for?
I have 2 N900s, so a long time for me. If a Meego phone with a physical keyboard is made I will consider that too. But it would have to be good. With the exception of being physically reliable (USB port falling off, not charging) I think it is perfect.
