It would also be good if we could have a section of "links" to all kind of Linux (non-android) activities for Mobiles, or at least a list of projects.

The only ones I heard about are the ones mentioned in the poll above, but it took me time to navigate and find all of those. For new members...

I do not even think that any of those deserve more attention then a subforum in alternatives, I may merge nemo and other mer projects into "Mer" as main section in the far future. For now, as the majority is still using Maemo as primary OS, there is need for support in CSSU and if we jointventure with Jolla for Sailfish (then and only then as sub/f for OSs.

For starters, search for each OS and ask yourself if the majority of the results deserve to be in their own subforum or not.

I'm OK for merging all Mer systems (including Sailifish) into one Mer section, though I still think that having subsections with Mer being the root, and all derivatives with their own ones is neater. There is no point to impose artificial inconveniences when it's so easy to add a subsection.

There is tremendous technical and sociological friction to change in any established community. Consider carefully whether your community is willing to adopt such a big change. Perhaps start a discussion about even the possibility of such a change well in advance.

We believe Discourse currently makes the most sense for new discussion communities. In some rare cases communities may have a discussion platform that they intensely and actively dislike, to the point that they are willing to throw the whole thing away and start over.

One of the features I like is the real time updating and knowing who meantioned or replied you. Would be nice to have it.

...doesn't knock me off my heels. It's even ***-slow on my desktop Opera, (ok being run in an XDMCP session) but really it feels like a 15fps iOS 'app'. Stuttering, btw. #lubeman

Besides that, the default theme... i dunno. Too much social web 3.0 or whatever it's called; JavaScript-heavy dumbed-down lackluster aesthetics.

It's called "Bootstrap", and is used by 99% of websites who have absolutely no idea how to make an original design.

(And yes, it uses JS everywhere, making the N900 blow chunks trying to render the desktop version of sites using Bootstrap)

I think it's simply a fancy skin on an imageboard script, with fancy buzzwords like "real time".

What's wrong with using simple forum software like phpBB or SMF?

Well, I wouldn't call Ville M. Vainio "clueless", & he's the person for whom it originally struck a chord.
But yes, I'm sure there's heaps of better alternatives out there, this just popped-up in front of me, so I shared it without any close inspection.
