I'm using invisibleshield on my n900 and I have not experienced such issues. The stylus and my fingers work perfectly, but I have to insert slightly more pressure maybe which will be true for almost any screen protector. I have not lost any precision though, and can still use hand drawing applications with ease.

I'm about ready to order one of these Vikuiti™ DQC-160 from protectionfilm24, but it seem to show a price with VAT included. Shouldn't it be VAT free if I'm importing to the US?

I'm hoping this will be better then the "military" films that required soap & water to apply. I tried one from Phantomskinz & it's a pain to apply. Perhaps because I didn't follow the instruction to the letter & buy a bottle of Johnsons baby wash just to apply this thing. Trying to get it off feels like I'm gonna pull the screen off too.

I don't know if this was posted before, but PDair recently released their pouches for the N900.

They also uploaded videos on youtube.
Just letting you know.

Ooh, I like the vertical one without the belt clip. Any idea if it's available in the UK and prices if so?

This is in the post to me as a quick and cheap solution just to get some instant protection while I find something decent...

Ok I just received the qubit as well.

The bottom piece is very stable, but the top piece sometimes comes off while opening closing the keyboard. It just does not feel stable. Anyone else with the qubit can comment on the top piece stability and fit?

Well I got my sleeve from sfbags.com and it's exactly what I was looking for. I have my phone in my pants pocket so it needs no drop protection or anything else. All it needs is protection from all the rubbing inside the pocket. This sleeve does that perfectly. The outside pocket is also handy if you want to throw some cash in it...credit card...or maybe a USB cable or something.

In terms of screen protectors, I've tried the ZAGG one and it's pure garbage. It makes the screen impossible to use because it is sticky as hell and it also makes the screen slightly blurry/introduces artifacts. Because it's so damn sticky it collects dust like crazy. I could only put up with it for 1 day after which I took it off and thew it out. I will stay without a screen protector and if the scratches get bad, I'll simply replace it with new parts.

^^ Nice! I like that, any idea if I can get one in the UK without crazy costs? Does the top drawstring close or keep the phone in the pouch in any way?

I'm very tempted by this one:

Hahah......OR NOT! :)

The top doesn't close but the phone doesn't fall out. I would say it's just right without making the phone too difficult to take out.

The thing weighs next to nothing so I don't see why shipping would be a huge issue.

I just received my sleeve w/ pocket from SF Bags as well. Does yours fit your n900 perfectly flush? Mine seems way too big, considering that they advise customers not to worry if the sleeve seems too small (as it is supposed to stretch out to fit in time).

In any case, Gary's customer service is as advertised: absolutely top-notch. He asked me to take some pictures of the n900 in the sleeve so that he can see if they can get a better fitting one for me.

Same here -- it's quite loose, nothing like the one I had for my TouchPro. But then, we DID give them custom measurements rather than buying one for the N900... oh, well. It's not that terrible, and the back pocket is very stretchy.

I got Vikuiti DQC-160 and invisible shield and i got a say i like the IS more. I just couldn't get the Vikuiti perfect. There where always left some bubbles. IS needed one try and it was pretty much perfect. After 2 days there is no single bubble or anything and i don't find the surface to be any trouble.
Ordered the Vikuiti because my IS order did take 17 days to ship and after hearing bad comments about it, but i'm really happy with IS and it will be the one staying on my N900.

Thought one really good thing with Vikuiti is that it was easy to take off and shouldn't be problem to put it back and i do like the coating.

I'm quite happy with invisibleshield as well. I just don't understand why people tend to dislike it. The only negative thing it has for me is the high price :)

For me the top part fits snugly and is 100% stable - it hasn't come off at all.

Slide the keyboard open, turn the device over, and look for the two tiny plastic lugs that hold it in place. Do you need to push the top cover on a bit harder so that those lugs will clip over the edge of the N900? There lugs on the opposite edge of the top cover are not so easy to inspect.

I found those tiny things, and they lock onto place but the keyboard side lacks those tiny things and when I push from that side it moves or loosens, possibly coming off

Mine fits perfectly...not too loose or too tight. They either sent you the wrong one or they used the wrong dimensions to make it? Did you ask them for custom dimensions when you ordered?

Either way I am sure they will make it right..their support is outstanding.

I did not ask for custom dimensions because the N900 was already listed on their website by the time I ordered.

In any case, I have been impressed by their support so far so I am not too worried about things not working out.

Who knows...I ordered mine before they had it listed on the site and I asked for the specific phone dimensions...which I got from the nokia site :)

i really like my PDA case with the Aliminium in the case. Really stops any presure on the screen when my kids climb all over me :-)

i suspect i'll hold out for this one, but any others with solid screen covers would be worth looking at

Order this leather case from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Genuine-Leat...item1c0de3c259
Fits well, the only thing i notice is there is a magnet to close it. And if my phone is locked, it gets unlocked when placed inside. So i have to place the back of the phone facing the mangnet.

I'm not so sure about that since I just placed an order shipped to the US from protectionfilms24 & it seems to have gone through fine. I would hope their system would automatically reject orders before they're placed if they can't ship to a certain destination plus they also have USD as viewable currency. So assuming all it ok they're much less expensive then going through amazon UK which is asking $20 for 1 DQC-160 versus $13 through protectionfilms24. Difference is because of free shipping with protectionfilms24.

Got the same case. If you push the side lock before placing it in the case, it won't unlock it.

The fit on mine from SF bags was good and mildly taught. I may have liked the fit to be slightly tighter, but that would make getting the device in and out more difficult. So I think they got the size just right. The support and communication from Gary was outstanding.

Re: N900 Case / Pouch / Screen Protector Thread

I'm liking the fit on my SF Bags case more and more. It's looser than their case for my TouchPro, but it makes getting the phone in and out easier. I applied a screen and back protector from "Clear Protector" also, and it makes it stick more in the case.

Speaking of, I really like the back protector from Clear Protector -- it gives it more of a grip and fits on great. Thinking of it, though, why would I want to protect the battery cover? :) Oh, well. It's shiny, too. I am divided on liking the look or not.

Both the back protector and screen protector went on great; easiest application I've ever had. I used glasses cleaner instead of soap and water, though.

The screen protector does have a texture, but it is only noticable on the parts that DON'T cover the screen or when the screen is off. It *does* change the feel and require a harder push, though. I think any screen protector would do this.

Re: N900 Case / Pouch / Screen Protector Thread

I was a little concerned with all the comments about the Zagg Invisible Shield and a tad concerned when it turned up without the usual spray bottle. Zagg have changed to using a sponge in a plastic bath affair. I wasn't impressed at first but I must admit it makes a lot more sense and made things much easier to apply.
The spray bottle in previous versions created bubbles on the film which were hard to remove. Using a sponge means simple wiping the film over the moisten then slide into place. They even provide a microfibre cloth the give the phone a good polish first. The card provided to smooth bubbles out works fine though for the back I suggest using a finger hard over the 'Nokia' wording to get it into the letters.
As with all Zagg shileds, leave the very edges on bends to dry off for a minute before bending down and you'll find the resul better. Hold the best over piece in place for a few seconds and it will take properly then.
I cannot stress the importance of a dust-free environment when applying the shield. Any dust in the area will magically stick the piece that covers the screen then take ages to wipe off. The sponge wiped over the film helps here btw.
End result is a shint back and edges that is less likely to slip. The screen is slighty less slippy when use but fine if you use a finger and style is only marginally different. A very slight addition to the pressure is required but I was pushing hard enough without the screen so no difference to me really. Screen a tad shiny so sunshine might affect it.

My pouch from sfbags fits perfect, and does not fall out when held upside down unless shaken. I ordered the one with the pocket but if I had to do it again I would order without the pocket.
