hehe i ordered the day after you :)

It all depends on batch sizes, if there is three batches i'd assume
Batch1 = sept - early oct
Batch2 = Early oct - mid nov
Batch3 = Orders in the last week or two :)

Just a guess tho! :)

Still crossing fingers that i have mine by friday :)

Well, gearing up for another fun week with all you other MPD pre-order folk. Some links we're gonna need to keep handy over the coming days:

Something to help us keep calm as the 4th December goes whooshing by...

http://www.solveyourproblem.com/artm...icle_712.shtml

And when it does and people are wandering into Nokia stores getting contracts across the counter, we might need this...

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/exclusive

You know, just to help them understand the meaning of a word they are clearly having some difficulty with...

And if we get so pi55sed off with MPD and Nokia, the ultimate rebuff...

http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=190234

Because there seems more chance of picking this up than a N900 at the moment :p

Lets hope they deliver as NFS are meant to be shipping contracts tomorrow, so MPD should have stock??

Didn't notice that it was optional when I pre-ordered. Anyone knows if they charge you after 3 months? (I just went to their site again put a contract on my basket but they don't say anything about what happens after 3 months). Good luck to all of us this week...

Yes, make sure you tell them to cancel the insurance after the three month period, ptherwise they will charge you for it afterwards.

Morning guys,

so what's the weekend gossip then?

I'll have a guess. No word from MPD, but someone else on here heard/knows different and they'll be shipped today with a free gift for all the messing around we've had?

No? Oh well Friday it is then. Bugger.

Same here..
But..

They claimed to be first and exclusive, so if they (MPD) are shipping phones with contracts from the NFS today, then they should in theory be shipping to everyone else or they are not first or exclusive.
It's clutching at straws, but I don't want to have to wait until Fri.

Free Mobile Phone Insurance

All customers receive 3 months Free mobile phone insurance worth £17.97 with all new phones that we supply.

How much is my premium and how will it be collected?back to top

The premium is £5.99 per month including IPT (insurance premium tax) and will be collected by Direct Debit each month from your bank account.

What am I covered for?back to top

This policy covers you for Theft, Loss, Accidental Damage and Mechanical Breakdown.

My phone has just stopped working?back to top

If you have not damaged the phone by accident, and you bought the phone less than a year ago, it is likely that the handset is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. In this case please go to the repair section on our website. If you purchased the phone in excess of a year ago, call the claim line on 0844 576 2263.

How long is my claim likely to take?back to top

All paperwork is processed in our office the same day. If you're phone is being replaced, please allow three working days. If your phone is being repaired, please allow five to seven working days.

Like all policies, there are some things this insurance does not cover. Importantly these include; inappropriate use, breakdown which occurs during the manufacturers warranty period or due to abuse or wear and tear or gradual deterioration of the phone, cosmetic damage to the phone, any claim made in excess of 48 hours of discovering the incident or from return to the UK where the incident occurred outside of the UK, any claim form not returned to the Administrator within 30 days of notifying the claim, claims not accompanied by a Crime or Lost Property Reference Number (as appropriate), and any claim where the user is under the age of 18. There is an excess of £25 on each and every claim. The maximum liability for any claim cannot exceed the replacement value of your phone. Theft or Loss claims will not be paid unless reported to the appropriate local Police authority and your Network within 24 hours of discovering the incident and if the theft is from an unattended vehicle unless the vehicle is locked and the phone is completely hidden from view in a glove compartment or boot, from unoccupied premises unless there is evidence of forced entry, from the person unless force, pick-pocketing or threat of violence is used or if the theft is in a public place if you leave the phone unattended. You are required to take all reasonable precautions to protect the phone against theft, loss or damage.

Following your 3 months free insurance, premiums will be collected monthly by Direct Debit at £5.99 per month including any IPT and will continue by periods of one month (up to a maximum period of cover of 5 years) upon receipt of your monthly premiums. You can cancel your Direct Debit at any time.

You have a right to cancel the insurance by giving written notice of cancellation within 14 days of the receipt of confirmation of insurance cover to the Citymain Administrators Limited ("the Administrator") at P O Box 116 Ryde PO33 2WX quoting your mobile phone number. If you do not exercise this right to cancel then your rights and those of the insurer to cancel this insurance cover thereafter are that you may cancel this insurance at any time by giving notice of cancellation, in writing or by telephone, to the Administrator. Cover will terminate immediately on receipt of your cancellation.

If you need to make a claim under the insurance contact the Administrator at the above address or on 0844 576 2263.

Ahhh screw that they had it in a different area

Free Mobile Phone Insurance

All customers receive 3 months Free mobile phone insurance worth £17.97 with all new phones that we supply.

Insurance is optional and you can choose not to accept it by simply clicking the dustbin Dustbin next to insurance in your basket. If you do this we will not insure your new phone.

According to statistics, there are in excess of 2 million* mobile phone thefts each year. Add to this the many thousands of phones which are lost, accidentally damaged or suffer mechanical breakdown, you should give as much consideration to insurance as you do to the choice of your mobile phone.

Insuring your phone is a simple way to protect yourself against the expense and inconvenience of having to replace your mobile phone. Many people believe that if they do not have a mobile phone the contract will be cancelled. Whether you have the phone in your possession or not, you will still liable for line rental for the remaining duration of your airtime contract. The SIM free cost of replacing a pay monthly mobile phone without a new contract will typically cost £350 - £500.

How or where do you obtain my details?back to top

When you purchase your phone from us, provided you have agreed to the insurance option, your bank details are then included within the insurance scheme. The Direct Debit Guarantee is given to you during the sale process detailing all the safeguards of the paperless Direct Debit scheme. Citymain write to each customer confirming the cover and giving confirmation of the Direct Debit set up. On month four Citymain will collect the monthly premium by Direct Debit from your account.
How much is my premium and how will it be collected?back to top

The premium is £5.99 per month including IPT (insurance premium tax) and will be collected by Direct Debit each month from your bank account.
When does my insurance cover commence?back to top

Providing you have agreed to the free insurance option, your phone is covered from when you receive your phone. Cover continues from month four onwards subject to you having paid the monthly premium by Direct Debit.
Am I able to benefit from this insurance if I live outside the UK?back to top

Regretfully the coverage is only available to those people who are permanently resident in the United Kingdom. If you reside in any other country such as the United States we regret that we are not able to provide insurance. If you are a UK permanent resident, you are covered for up to 30 days world-wide cover in any one year.
What am I covered for?back to top

This policy covers you for Theft, Loss, Accidental Damage and Mechanical Breakdown.
Why shouldn't I cover this under my household Insurance?back to top

This policy is a dedicated insurance policy especially for mobile phones, ensuring rapid replacement or repair of your handset once your claim has been accepted. Household policies often have a much higher excess and a claim for your mobile phone will more than likely affect your no claims bonus.

If my phone has been stolen or lost, how do I make a claim?back to top

In the event of theft or loss:

1. If you or your immediate family are not in possession of the telephone contact your airtime provider within 24 hours of discovering the incident to place a call bar on the telephone.
2. Notify the appropriate local Police authority within 24 hours of discovering the incident and obtain a Crime or Lost Property reference number (as appropriate) and a copy of the Police report.
3. Contact the claims line on 0844 576 2263 and report the claim. You will be sent a claim form for completion which must be returned within 30 days of notifying the claim together with your excess payment of £25 and any other required documentation.

In the event of Accidental Damage, how do I make a claim?back to top

1. Contact the claims line on 0844 576 2263 within 48 hours of discovering the incident (or in the event of the incident occurring outside of the UK, within 48 hours of returning to the UK).
2. Once you have returned the phone to the address you will be given and completed and returned your claim form within 30 days of notifying the claim and paid the £25 excess, your claim will be assessed and the repair/replacement authorised if your claim is approved.

Can I fax my claim form to you?back to top

Regretfully Underwriters require an original, signed copy of the claim form. If you post this to us first class, we will process it the same day we receive it in our office. The address you should post your claim form to is:
Claims Department
PO Box 116
Ryde

The Sale of Goods Acts lay down several conditions that all goods sold by a trader must meet. The goods must be of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for purpose.

Your statutory rights are limited which is why we offer insurance (not just an extended warranty) specially designed to protect your mobile phone (but not e.g. accessories or car kits) for up to 5 years, (with the first 3 months free) against the risks of theft, loss, accidental damage (including water damage) and breakdown whilst being used in the United Kingdom (and worldwide for a maximum of 30 days in any one year) by you as the person who purchased it or any of your children, brothers, sisters (all over the age of 18) and parents permanently residing with you.

The Mobile Phone Insurance offered on this site is underwritten by Lloyds Syndicate 5820. Registered in England number 04434499. Registered office: Jubilee Managing Agency Limited, Sidcup House, 12-18 Station Road, Sidcup, Kent DA15 7EX. Jubilee Managing Agency Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and is entered on their register under number 226696. Because the cover is insured the Financial Services Compensation Scheme will usually cover at least 90% of your insurance benefits if the insurers become insolvent or are unable to meet their obligations. Further details are obtained from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme website http://www.fscs.org.uk/ or by phone at 020 7892 7300. Alternatively, you may write to: Financial Services Compensation Scheme, 7th floor Lloyds Chambers, Portsoken Street, London E1 8BN.

Other Insurance (including some elements of household insurance) may be available for your mobile phone other than from the insurer whose cover is offered on this site.

Morning all - hope you all had good weekends!

This is definitely the week we'll get our phones... [optimism is needed I think]

I think we should actually make a series of formal complaints to the relevant bodies if NFS are already dishing out SIM-Free phones and are claiming to do contracts (operated by MPD) today...

I'll join in the phoning/emailing and generally giving them hell if NFS do ship contracts today...

If that "3 batches" theory is correct, I wonder which I'll be in with the 10th October... *fingers crossed*

Sorry to double post, but found my webchat with MPD quite amusing - they've just denied that NFS N900's on contract are NOT run by MPD which is odd seeing as that "Jon" chap in the NFS certainly thinks he works for MPD...

In other news, the first batch was meant to arrive today but hasn't come...!
