I like the screen above. It kind of has a Mac-like feel to it. Here's NuvoClear updated; I think all bugs are fixed. I now have a garage page, so I'll try not to muck this board up with off topic things. See my sig below.
Oh, and have a screenshot. (wallpaper)

Underscore, thanks again for nuvoClear, my favorite theme.

What city is that? It sure ain't in Florida (max. elevation 324 feet).

In your status bar, what are icons 1, 3, and 4?

Underscore, you are one mature dude for 15! (And I mean that in the best of ways.)

Monaco :)

If you are counting from right, 1 is the Statusbar Time Applet by fiferboy, 3 is rm_you's advanced backlight control, 5 is the presence applet (comes built in with device and can be upgraded with rtcomm)

Khertan - I guess my question is: When are you going to release those nice transparent versions? Much nicer than the ones I just installed from your web site :)

Thanks! I did some research last night after I saw your screenshot, and I eventually found it! Nice little program, but for some reason the "transparent" option doesn't do anything on my N810.

You should be able to do this before re-packaging. Just make sure the names of the images are right (and thus that you are replacing already existing images). Of course, you can for example replace existing icons with postinst script if you want to add new images.

Some of those applets are kind bright for that background.
Looks like Qwerty answered all you questions :D.
Thanks for the compliment. (also, thank Konttori, he did much of the work behind the nuvoclear theme...see nuvopearl)

New theme: WhiteApps.

That's pretty discriptive, actually.

Based on NuvoPearl (with Underscore's frame, as usual  ).

Bright cool minimal white frames and translucent interiors for most popular applets, none of my usual 'let's play with subtle colour changes and get rid of radio boxes!!' playing.

Basic with a clean sharp twist.

Of course I thought of 'WhiteOut' as the theme name only *after* I'd started it :o.

Really... must learn to replace those task navigator icons one day... :)

[Removed until a small problem's been resolved. I'll replace v1 with v2 when I can get some help. Sorry 'bout that. For the life of me, I can't recall altering the .png in question] . Zip includes the .deb, a couple of screenshots, the 'images' folder for the theme, and notes + description.

Here's a preview:

Interesting... when the email notifier opens up, there's a snazzy white framed box... and nothing in it when it should have the email title. It must be dependent on a shared .png that I must have made transparent.

I think I've found the .png, altered it and placed it back in the 'images' folder.

After deleting all the copies on the N800 and switching to another theme, I reopened Theme Maker (which happened to reopen to WhiteApps' settings since that was the last theme I was playing with).

Except that the repackage doesn't include the new version number or the altered .png.

I'm removing the link to the WhiteApps for the moment (and that means you may want to remove WhiteApps from your system, Underscore) until I can get this resolved.

Does this mean that Theme Maker can only repackage the last *active* project and it loses the ability to repackage if the application is shut down and reopened - even if it's the last theme that the maker was working on?

I guess I can always rename WhiteApps to 'WhiteOut', use the same settings, .deb it and then just copy all the (corrected) .pngs from WhiteApps 'images' folder over to WhiteOut's 'images folder and repackage that.

But it seems sad if you want to repackage a theme with a name you really like... .

Yeah ! I also have this "Simple Launcher" bug about transparency on my N800.
It occurs on OS2008, but used to work fine on OS2007...
I hope the guys will fix it.

Hi Betty Woo,
What applets are the bottom two on the right of your WhiteApps screenshot?
Also, I really like this and the FunFun4f themes. It appears to me that the fonts have been enlarged from FunFun4c. Thanks :)

Qwerty, your screenshots are always the best; you always have a million new mods and apps to show off. I can't help but wonder how long it would take you to restore everything if you ever need to reflash......:O

P.s - Betty, I tried out your theme and the applets are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

Keepin' it simple...

I use Personal Menu for fringer friendly apps and web pages...

... and Command Navigator is used for utilities and stylus apps.

The Task Navigator is sill there. I just replaced the default icon with a trasparent one. :)

My now blanked out Task Navigator is there for access to infrequently used items...

Lemme see.... top one: RRS Feed applet, middle one: FM Radio applet, bottom one: GPE Summary (from the GPE suite of PIMs).

Came down with a sinus cold yesterday so updating WhiteApps will be a while longer. My three braincells are now down to one and a half and a head full of concrete until my sinuses drain.

However, I finally figured out how to swap out task navigation icons :) Now they don't have to be soooo glaringly ThErE when put against a nice background.

Once those braincells reinflate, I must go back to my previous themes and clean them up a bit. For I have been developing A Method. This will either work... or not. We'll see... .

Re: Show off your screenshots

Theme maker does change the theme details in the repackaging process. So, version number should get updated as well.

It's the almond rounded.

If you have free's debfarm repo enabled, install xmms-skins-extras (something like that) and set /usr/share/XMMS/skins as a skin directory.

Na, I ended up doing them by hand... Personal-navigator is a pretty good resource for finding icon locations. I then went in and snatched them using emelfm2, made changes in PaintShop on my desktop, then copied over the originals again using emelfm2.
(< dang fine proggy BTW, it opened my eyes to so many possibilities. :) )

All of this was prompted by my aversion to sporting labels or providing free advertising on products I already paid for. I got tired of starring day in and out at the "Google" billboard pasted on the internet search applet, lol.

Benson 2008-04-10 18:08

You probably know this, but the internet search box comes with Wikipedia and Google search plugins, and you can add more. I don't see that one as advertising, 'cause you gotta have something to tell which site you're fixing to query.

True... but it's not hard to figure out which one by which icon is used weather it reads google or not.

BTW, please point me to a thread about adding searches to this applet.

I realy want to add the Google search for itT to the thing. < ironic; ain't it? :)
