Re: [Announce] GnGeo-gui

Sorry, I neglected to mention that I am running CSSU Thumb - should the gui still work with Thumb or are you aware of compatibility issues?

Thanks

I am running thumb2 myself.
The trace output did not give me any clue. At me moment I am thinking about the best next step in testing. I will update this post or add a new post for that.

Edit:
Okay, before we try anything with core dumps; let's try two more scenarios:

1. Reinstall some packages:
Code:

root
apt-get install --reinstall  python2.5-qt4-gui python2.5-qt4-core python2.5-qt4-maemo5 python-pyside.qtgui python-pyside.qtcore python-pyside.qtmaemo5 gngeo-gui

And check if it has any effect.

2. Check the gngeo config file
Although gngeo itself works for you, maybe gngeo-gui has an issue with it

(as user)
Code:

cd /home/user/.gngeo
mv gngeorc gngeorc.bak

start gngeo-gui
restore the config afterwards:
Code:

mv gngeorc.bak gngeorc

Btw, you have succeeded in installing and running it now?

edit:
gngeo version 0.8.3 on the openpandora system has an option to strech 800x480, but I can't find that specific source.

Re: [Announce] GnGeo-gui

@ade Many thanks ..
I managed to install and run only
My problem how to change the keyboard settings to our liking?

Re: [Announce] GnGeo-gui

How about:
Choose config menu -> scoll down to "key def" button.
Then set the keys by entering the (ascii) value or by pressing the key itself (there are a lot of keys, don't define them twice)
Then go back to config menu, and press "SAVE" in the lower part of the config menu and you are done.

As I said: just press the related "key" button (for down player 1 for example). Then you can press a key on the keyboard, and the value will be filled in for you, there is no reason to find the number yourself.

Re: [Announce] GnGeo-gui

I got a notification today (update) for gngeo from 0.7.0-3 to 0.7.0-maemo4, I'll update to check any difference, but you have not mencioned anything, the maintainer is Peponas Mathiel, if I have some problem I uninstall and install the 0.7.0-3 again. Will report any difference...

ade 2012-12-07 18:23

Re: [Announce] GnGeo-gui

It is the same gngeo version as 0.7.0-3, the install script was fixed for initial users.

As for the maintainer: Mathieu Peponas is the gngeo developer, and in that way the maintainer. I only made some small changes for our device. But I am the one who uploaded 0.7.0-maemo4 ;)

Re: [Announce] GnGeo-gui

BTW, the fullscreen is now working great, overclocked to 900mhz it gets 50 to 60 fps easily, I can't wait to fix my controllers, both usb and sisxaxis to play KOF series against friends. Thank you Ade.

gngeo version 0.8.3 on the openpandora system has an option to strech 800x480, but I can't find that specific source.

This one? http://code.google.com/p/gngeo/

, its pepone/peponas source, and there is mention of 16:9 support for pandora in that source changelogs. The last updated pandora's 0.8 version was 12 july 2012 that repo contains source of 30 may 2012 of v0.8, so i guess thats the latest source of pandora to build (if youre still intrested in it). Btw someone happens to have a binary of dumpgfx for n900? Im unable to compile it correctly on device (after a successfull compile it aborts on dumping gfx of all roms).

Can't really remember if I looked at this code, but I think I did. It does indeed have the "wide" option to stretch the screen in the pandora build.

As the current version works good imho, and it is too long ago, I was not planning to further work on it.

Regarding dumpgfx: never used it, but why not use a desktop version if it fails on the n900?
