Re: Nemo mobile discussions
Kontact in itself isn't an e-mail client, isn't it? I.e. it's usually works in combination with Kmail and etc. So even with Kontact, one still needs some e-mail client if I understood correctly.

But I hope atleast they make the UI open and some plugin API for thirdparty closed Exchange support etc.. And use existing open IMAP API:s (if there is good once). |
Re: Nemo mobile discussions
Is there some overall introduction to compiling images? The guides on the mer wiki describe the basic process, but I still don't *really* know what I'm doing.
I've gotten the Tizen developer device to "boot" nemo, but it doesn't go past the blue Nemo picture. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to just hide that picture so that I can maybe see where it hangs. |

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
A new snapshot of Nemo Mobile for N900/N950/N9/x86/VM is available. This snapshot is the first one that is distributed in our new servers and is also the first one that was build by using zypp backend in image building. Also new patterns are taken in use which make it much easier to update the device with new packages in the future. More information about using new patterns in updating in our wiki.

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
After installing image must be update by xterm
|
Re: Nemo mobile discussions
Anyone tested the new image? Any video or update on the improvements experienced after installation? Pl share if ou find time. Thanks in advance.

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
i wrote it to my SD card and checked it on my N900. It's faster from the previous version. but settings problem as i have mentioned before has not been solved. I can't scroll down in settings app. Is anyone else is facing this problem also ? if yes then please do confirm.

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
Now that there's a Nemo sub-forum, perhaps it's appropriate to be moving this thread there:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...18#post1318718 Then again it's only a temporary sub, when proper restructuring takes place, that sub-forum will prob. be moved elsewhere. (Reported my post to mods for them to decide...) |

* the device is noticeably more responsive; * settings do not scroll as well. More: * my wifi network hangs after random intervals, but does not disconnect. A manual disconnect/connect cycle solves it for a while; * while in terminal some key events appeared to be lost; * the power menu does not appear correctly some times. |

git is available at https://github.com/nemomobile/qmlmail, and it is now in the repositories too. the largest missing piece is an account configuration. i've started some work on accounts in the new settings application (https://github.com/nemomobile/qmlsettings) but I lack the understanding of accounts to make it work. perhaps someone can give a shot working on that? |

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
So here is life again?
I still cannot set up a WiFi. I have a hidden SSID at home and do not want to change that. I had no success in getting a WLAN connection. And juiceme: sometimes Nemo feels like it hangs and I cannot type or scroll. May this be because of second level cache? If so maybe we (you?) could inform the Nemoers? So we get this fix included in the Nemo kernel? |

I guess there might be some problems with hidden networks, at least I remembet Android has some issues there. Quote:
Hence if there are some issues with device speed I guess it is something else, propably nothing as easily solved. |
Re: Nemo mobile discussions
Oh juicy i thought it was dead.:(
actualy clear my doubts abt mer nemo sailfish why nemo is in sailfish homepage? Whats up on n900 support are there some kind of apps we could install n wat about mail client and overall perfomance specialy the browser and sim gprs n calls. |

But then I do not get it why it is sometimes so slowly (never happened that way on N900, older builds). I do use it on N9 with ubiboot (kexec). No one else experiencing this? --edit Oh and I do have it on partition no. 7 (not 4). Could this be the cause somehow? Some periodical checks/tasks, hardcoded p4 access? |

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
AM I blind or what?
Cant install Nemo on my N9. Look at the wiki howto gives no solution. Thing is I cant flash the FIASCO image found at the specified link in this thread. it only whines about: sudo flasher -a A0E9827F_DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3.339.2_PR_LEGACY_339_ARM_RM-696_PRD_signed.bin -k ./usr/share/kernel-moslo-n9/zImage-kernel-moslo-n9 -f "Server application: 1.7.2 Found product RM-696 rev. 1603 Server implements softupd protocol version 1.8 Image SW version <none> Image cert-sw not present Image cmt-2nd not present Image cmt-algo not present Image cmt-mcusw not present Image xloader not present Image secondary not present Image moslo not present Image rootfs not present Image mmc not present Image tar not present Image config skipped Battery level 94 %, continuing. image [state progress transfer flash speed] --------------------------------------------------------------------- [ ] kernel [pending 0 % 0 / 0 kB NA ] ERROR: SU_BEGIN_IMAGE_UPDATE_REQ terminated with error code 10: Security failure Fetching error list: ======================================== bb5_rdc_cert_read failed bb5_rdc_cert_read failed bb5_rdc_cert_read failed bb5_rdc_cert_read failed bb5_rdc_cert_read failed bb5_rdc_cert_read failed Devicelock ON: cannot flash unsigned image ======================================== ERROR: Failed to flash images" And digging TMO does only give hint about device must be unlocked? WTF? Isnt above what unlock is about? |
Re: Nemo mobile discussions
You need to not have a lock code set up, as non-Nokia kernels can't access the memory where the lock code is stored. Just remove your lockcode.
(you could also disable the warning if you want before flashing kernel, there's a command I don't remember now) |

Flash the kernel? Then you are missing the --flash-only=kernel flag (most probably from above try). Or try to flash the named image (then -F instaed of -a, but that will flash your rootfs)? And no, this has nothing to do about "unlock". With above flashed kernel you will enter "open mode" with all other optimizations/pros/cons/problems. Read about open mode and password/accounts problems and make yourself a clear view if you are ready for that. You may also have a look at ubiboot thread of juiceme! |

https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Nemo/Installing section: Persistent Single Boot by Flashing the Dual Boot if thats wrong way todo it, the wiki should be updated. However I did do this on my other device BEFORE broken Nokia killed the firmware server. But don't remember if it was thjis way. Would be nice if there were an uptodate install guide for N9 for those willing to play with this! |

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
you people have done an amazing job. Latest version of Nemo mobile is far better than previous versions and much more responsive than previous versions and very responsive compared to previous builds. even on first boot it didn't showed any slowness. Great work.

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
Yep will be damm sexy if somehow gps drivers are invented:D

Re: Nemo mobile discussions

Re: Nemo mobile discussions
Nokia is no longer interested in N900 and Maemo i don't understand why don't they just handover drivers and other proprierity contents to community ?
